Number I rang for 'Graham the Great' was 01977 627313. Be gentle with him as he's one of the good guys, also I've found being pleasant and having a joke with them is better than getting shirty !! It just a job after all !!!

    Good Luck!

Nice one many thanks will give him a try and let you know what happens
  • Hi, we went to the stage of sending Halifax 3 letters telling them we will take them to court, and had to go to the stage of filling it in court, and the amount we were asking for was transfered to our account on friday, 2 weeks from the court filling date. we got £2500.

Hi I am at a similar stage as you, claim being re-evaluated, been waiting since 10th May. I phoned yesterday to chase up to be told they have got until 16th July to respond, which I think is longer than 8 weeks but they insist this is the date - I worked it out to be 4th July. I am going to go with it for now but they are getting no longer, if I get no letter by then its going to mcol.

Stick to your own timescales, I think the Banks are getting very fed up with all the claims and I think things are going to change soon.

    Good luck;)

Hiya, I can't believe you're still waiting! The Hali are so inconsistent wiv us all I find it unbelievable!
As you may know, I sent them my LBA on 10th May. I don't know why I've been so lucky to have my claim settled so quickly since in total it was for £3400; the last of the money went into my account last monday(18th):j
    Good luck everybody & don't settle for 50%, Give it 100%;) !!!

Well my rejection letter landed on the doormat Saturday morning! I promptly called the 0845 number today to politely request my reevaluation to "what appeared to be standardised, system generated response".. to which a lovely lady called Maxine agreed and very efficiently sent my case off for reevaluation.

The waiting starts now then.... although Ive been qouted August 18th deadline?!?
Finally getting my finances in order

  • Hi Folks
Sorry if this has been asked before but here we go:
I requested 6 years statements from the Halifax on the 9th May
Received a letter dated 31st saying I should receive my request within 40 days but they are very busy etc etc
As of today no statements or any other letters, to my reckoning thats 45ish days. I know they only have 40 days under the data protection act.
What should I do now, start ringing?

I've been through all the merry dances with Halifax and they tried everything to stall, using 3 different Debt Collection Agencies etc
I honestly thought that as my account was OD, I didn't have a chance.

I was due to commence court proceeds on the 20th, however 2 days prior I received a letter to say that the full amount requested was going to be in account in 5 working days, and it was!

I followed the steps on Martins article STRICTLY and kept strictly to writing- no telephone calls (though this works for some)

It takes time (I was going to through in the towel at several points) but am so glad I continued!!!!!!!

    THANKS TO EVERYONE!

    GOOD LUCK!
