I'd probably give them a ringI keep ringing SCAM (Lloyds solicitors) in the hope they may get fed up of me and pay me, then again they may put me back to the bottom of the pile :rotfl:
It's worth a try
P.s I know it's a different bank but Lloyds defended me on 11th and I received a copy of the defence on the 15th.Member & fundraiser for Meningitis Research Foundation0 -
hi all........... Need some help please...
started claim for just over 2K against Halifax end of March. Given usual 8 eights and they then refused my claim. Rang them around 25th May and followed the telephone call up with a letter. I asked them to re-evaluate my claim - which appraently they are doing..... Rang earlier this week to chase my claim and was told that it had been escalated. The man was very polite and helpful and advised to hang on in there - an offer would be with me shortly. Told him he has until next Friday (29th) or i would proceed with court and they would look favourably on me as i had given them their time scale and some to reach an amicable settlement..
Any ideas on where i stand at the moment and any ideas on time??
cheers
grb
Hi I am at a similar stage as you, claim being re-evaluated, been waiting since 10th May. I phoned yesterday to chase up to be told they have got until 16th July to respond, which I think is longer than 8 weeks but they insist this is the date - I worked it out to be 4th July. I am going to go with it for now but they are getting no longer, if I get no letter by then its going to mcol.
Stick to your own timescales, I think the Banks are getting very fed up with all the claims and I think things are going to change soon.
Good luck;)0 -

I'm sure as I say though, any other debt outstanding is covered by seperate terms and conditons therefore any sum claimed back from the bank from charges they can only offset against any money owed on the account claimed from not take it and pay it against unrelated accounts also

Hi All
Just received Halifax's latest letter on Friday 22nd June stating they've "received and have been dealing with the proceedings" I'd issued against them in Northampton County Court (NCC), and they've returned the Form of Acknowledgment Of Service to NCC "indicating that Halifax intends to defend your claim".
They also say:
"However, on a purely commercial basis, it will cost Halifax money to defend your claim in terms of the legal cost that will be incurred. It is unlikely that Halifax will be able to recover these costs (even if the bank wins) because your claim will probably be allocated to the small claims track, in which the costs are not generally awarded."
"For this reason, but without admission of liability, Halifax is willing to reimburse GBP847.00 in respect of the bank charges incurred, together with GBP183.42 in respect of the approximate interest that Halifax has calculated was charged on your account as a result of charges. The Halifax will also reimburse GBP120.00 in respect of the Court fee. This amounts to GBP1,150.42 which will be paid into your account within the next 5 working days".
"Please note that if intereest payment has been made, this constitutes 'taxable income' and any tax due on this should be dealt with between you and your local tax office."
On the face of it, it seems I'm getting my money back.
Have you or any other successful reclaimants on this Forum had similar messages to the above?
What is "but without admission of liability" all about?
While waiting for what those next 5 working days bring, I also want to know the best steps to take in respect of fellow Reclaimants who've seen their bank accounts shut down after their banks have paid up; however rare Martin says their situation might be. Should I start shifting funds and instructions over to my A&L account within the next 7 days as a precaution?
I'll check the Success Stories and other Threads for pointers, and I'll greatly appreciate your feedback on this message.
With thanks,

Hi there i really need help, I have gone through all of martin's sections on re-claiming bank charges and now at the court stage. Halifax had offered me £521.50 as a gesture of goodwill but wrote back saying that I wouldn't accept the offer, but now Im thinking should I take it and be done with it as I'm really not bothered with it no-more i've been tackling it since February of this year.
