halifax bank charges (merged)

Just got another reply from the same person at the Halifax with the rest of the charges from 2003 to 2007 but the problem is its only a list with charges and dates not my statements as requested and the person doesnt have a contact number (what a suprise)
So in theory they might have missed something and i have no way of checking
Has anyone else been sent the sheet of A4 with only dates and charges listed ?
Is it worth still trying to get the proper statements ?
I had a reply back from the FSA eventually saying that they would include my complaint in the May batch to the Halifax will this prompt them to send the statements correctly ?0 -
Hi there, Im now at the final stage of claiming my bank charges from Halifax. Ive been onto the Moneyclaim website but have been told that I cannot continue with my claim as the defendants address is outside of England and Wales. Has this happened to anyone else? If so what did you do?
Thanks Katie0 -
How did they tell you? Which address did you/they give?0

i had a letter from halifax saying no to refund my charges shall i try giving them a call saying i will accept it without the interest ?
if so which is the best number to call ?
as there been much success calling them? LOVE LIFE PROCEED & PROGRESS0 -
Don't give up.
The Halifax defended my claim, with the standard 28 days to put the case together.
In between i received a letter saying that their charges were fine and that they were justified.
Anyway, on Saturday i received another letter stating that it would cost the Halifax too much money to defend the claim so they paid the full amount plus interest into my bank without admitting liability.
So the advice is to stick with it. Follow the guidelines and don't be put off with the bullish approach from the banks.
Hope this helps.0 -
Hi,
I am a new memeber to the forum! Needed some advice so thought I would join!!
Im in the process of getting the Halifax to reimburse my £1593 in bank charges, sent the 1st letter, they came back with the letter you guys have all had, "I am sorry to advise you i am declining your complaint. BLAH BLAH BLAH"
Looking to now send them a 2nd letter. Not sure exactly what I should be sending??? i.e. what is the 2nd letter. Is there a template?
Or should i just go straight to the court option?
p.s. - if anyone is trying to claim back from HSBC - long process but my partner has just received £1000 back...she only claimed for £938! ;o)
Thanks guys - looking forward to your replies...0 -

Ring the number that is printed at the top of the letter and tell them that you are not happy with their decision and that you would like your case to be re-evaluated by a manager. Hopefully you should get a reply within a couple of weeks, I did:j !0 -

Follow step 4 in Martin's guide to reclaiming your charges, threaten them with court. This is what's commonly known as a LBA (Letter Before Action) There is a template to download as well. There's nothing like a bit of decisive action to let them know you're serious!!:rotfl:0 -
Just had a letter offering me half of the £353 Im claiming ..it will be in the account in the next 14 days .....yikes it was in yesterday and I dont want it ...well off to phone to send it back ...
I GOT A RESULT:beer:
Stick in there, and phone them... I got offered a goodwill getsture of £132 on Sat when I was claiming £234 (plus interest) I phoned them up today (bloody bank hol!!) spoke to a guy who took my details and spoke to me for all of 5 mins. Went off to work thinking that they wouldn't get back to me and were gonna drag their heels a bit, to my surprise I got a call at 6.50 from a nice lady and I explained that I appreciated the goodwill gesture but if I went to court I would get the full amount plus interest and court costs and that if they would pay the £234 then I would consider the matter settled.
I'm now awaiting a letter confirming this, which should be sent out tomorrow and the money should be in my account within the next 14 days :j
