    Hi All

Any ideas how long its taking Halifax to get copies of statements sent out?

I sent a letter requesting my statements (funnily enough none show on my online account with them?!?) about 2 weeks ago. Im not expecting miracles but when I called the contact centre yesterday a rather snotty advisor told me that they would not be able to tell me if any letters had been received into their correspondence/customer relations/whatever they want to call it department as the team do not put notes like that onto the accounts.

Now, working in a contact centre myself.. and as a manager... I cant believe that every piece of customer contact such as this isnt placed onto a customers account as a note..... I thought my company needed to get things in order but in comparison to Halifax we are angels! At least we have set process and procedures we have to follow. Halifax just seem to be a law to themselves.

Any one got any ideas? Have a feeling Im being fobbed off and might need to send another letter requesting the statements.... or can advisors order them over the phone??

    Thanks

    Ash

I asked for a list of charges on a letter posted 29 march 07. I received a reply listing my charges totalling £3026 on 26 may 07
I have now written to halifax asking for 3519.15 inc 493.15 interest. heres hoping!!

  • What makes you think the next stage is to ring them?

Please read these threads before you do anything else...

I don't want to sound cheeky as I am new here and maybe I interpreted your post wrong but I read through Martins post about bank charges and he clearly states that if you don't hear anything after 40 days then you should follow your letter up with a phone call to the bank! I didn't read the threads you posted before I posted on here as I thought what Martin had said would be accurate!

Anyway my partner did call the branch and spoke to someone that was very helpful and they are sending out a detailed list of his charges.

Halifax got my statements back to me within the 40 days i think it took them just over 3 weeks, though it took them less time to reject my claim first time.

However, I've been thinking this through I've rung them to ask for my case to be re-investigated, the girl on the phone said upto 8 weeks but could be sooner, should I wait for the next reply or send a chaser letter in 2 weeks time?

Hi , I had the same response (see above) and had a reply to my re-investigation within a week...with an offer which was promptly rejected and after a bit of negotiating with the lady on the phone we came to an agreement which I accepted....less interest but thats another story to carry on ... :j
    Im not really mad...

hi everyone i requested my charges back from halifax in march they totalled £1100 i got the standard letter saying 8 weeks blah blah so when my time limit was up i sent stage 4 letter saying i wasnt happy to have had unsatisfactory/ no response few days later i got a letter saying no refund was going to be paid so i called them spoke to a guy who said it could go to higher up to be reconsidered but he couldnt say how long it would take so i told him no they have 7 days left to respond (that was the time left from when i sent stage 4 letter) so on thursday i got a letter offering me £468.60 plus the amount my account was overdrawn when they closed it which was £150 so in total it amounts to about £618 however the account was overdrawn in the first place because of bank charges! so can anyone tell me what to do now should i ring them and if i do what do i say should i accept the offer or refuse? if i refuse what do i do next and how long will it take from now to get my money back? any ideas anyone! many thanks in adavance

Hi Donna ... I've found aslong as you are polite with them its easy to talk to them , and the money was deposited today and was on the statement as a cash deposit.

I rang the number on the top of the letter, asked to speak to the guy who wrote it, and just told him "I'm not happy with your offer", he said "how much would you be happy with?", i said "all of it", He said "OK, money will be in your account within 14 days"

As soon as money goes in, I'll be posting on the "Success" thread..

PS, my claim was for over £4k!!

    Good luck.
