Has anyone got a clue? I've got 2 accounts with Halifax and I'm claiming from both accounts but now i want to take them to court. Do i have to do 2 claims or can i combine the pair of them. Thanks in advance.

I have got a result with two out of three of my accounts with Halifax...! I started the process in December, asking for statements...finally got the last of them in May;May 11th sent LBA.. today rang the 0977 number as I didn't have the letter they promised me yesterday...
claim wos for £2700 (still waiting for the third!!), they offfered me £1350.50p....AS A GOODWILL GESTURE!!! Sod off, I want £2700 (without interest as we not in court yet), ...I got £2671..good enough for me, if we got to court, then I mite be liable for £2.50 for each letter..(a reasonable charge). so I think I've done quite well...:money:

You can do one claim for the total amount. You just have to submit two charges listings, one for each account.
Hamsters have no tact and diplomacy, nor do they want any.

When you write to the court do you have to include a charges list or just the amounts claimed?

You have to supply a list of each individual charge, along with its date, its value, the reason for it and the interest it has earned.

Please read the "Reclaim Bank Charges Help Thread" at the top of page one, it explains it in detail.

Claim both together if they combine under £5000, if not then start seperate claims, if you win then you will win costs back anyway...ha..ha..ha..!:p

Just recieved letter with an offer way below my claim ,so I called the people and had a talk and they were prepared to up it to my full amout less the interest ....

I sent my 2nd letter on 14th May, (after receiving a letter saying that I agreed to their terms and conditions when I opened the account, they feel that it is reasonable for them to charge for their service when customer's have insufficient funds in their account, therefore making more work for them..I fail to see how charging £39 is reasonable though!)

Today I received a letter arranging a goodwill payment of £132.. (They were quite quick in responding to my letters, within the 14 day timescales I'd set them.)

I think I'll phone them up and ask nicely for the full amount of £234... or they can face me in court and risk having to pay it all plus interest and court fees..

Be interesting to see what they say!!

I got my statments and sent the letters. Got the 8 week respond letter. Filed the MCOL. I recieved a letter stating that Halifax were going to defend the claim and if i had any questions call them. I did explaining that the 28 days would be up on the 2nd June. Reminded them that I had filed with MCOL and that I was still not happy. I was told that the defending letter is a standard letter in the hope that it will put people off from proceeding and that it would be passed onto a more semior person. I explained that I am going away on hol on the 1st June. Recieved a letter today saying that they will defend the claim HOWEVER blah blah blah quote the high cost that it be for them to defend blah blah without admission blah blah they will send me a cheque for £1490.62 in the next 5 working days!!!!

This is the total amount that I asked for plus interest and court fees.

    THANK YOU THANK YOU MARTIN
