Just to be given a load of bluff about they actually have 45 days to sent these - even though I told them 40!
So then I asked if they had actually been ordered yet which seemed to cause a little more confusion! advised them I sent letter on 12th April and was signed for on the 13th - apparently they have no record of this - but luckily I do (well done royal mail for recorded delivery)
So the 'nice lady on the phone advised she had filled in a DRSA Form, I asked what this was to be told a request for the information and could up to 40 days (a total of 80 if thats happens!), explained again that I had already waited this time and was basically bluffed off! Told to confirm letter was signed for which I did, and because I sent a postal order I would need to confirm with the post office that it had been cashed!
I'm really annoyed about this - but if they can be so awkward about giving me my statements what are they going to be like about giving me my money back?
Any help would be gratefully recieved!
Diane
Yeah the same thing happened to me, at first they said they didn't have my letter. I said that I had a signature. The girl asked me to call that number too but I refused, I said I wasn't going to explain all over again when I knew she could help me. I basically said that I had done everything correctly and I wanted my statements. She said she could send them within 3 weeks and I got them the following week. I was polite but very firm. I think if you give them the impression you know exactly what you're doing they won't waste their time trying to play games.0 -

Everyone says they spoke to a nice person there but when i called they said tuff luck for incuring charges and i should look at my spending.... When i asked where i should send court papers they said nothing or "don't know" Must be my Dorset tones or they are just keen to put me off as am claiming just short of 5k.
Anyway, Halifax have acknowledged my MCOL claim and have 19 days to do something else…… Am sure thay will stall for more time but you never know they might pay up?!?
Sorry thought you were replying to a previous post!! Thats the only prob with this thread in that there are so many posts!!!
Well Halifax havent acknowledged my claim yet and I now only have to wait until 30th for Judgement by Default which would be the ideal result for me as going away for a month on 20th June and need money before then!!
You know the funny thing..........I get called every day by Halifax chasing me for money and you know what that money is.......bank charges they put on my account to take it over the overdraft limit!!! They have now put it with a Debt Collection agency who I contacted and they wanted me to make a token payment, guess what I said..........'How about ********!!' Why would I make a payment to somebody when they owe me over £2k!!0 -
Got my letter last week stating that the charges i had received were correct and i wasnt entitled to a refund I then phoned them and they said they would pass my case back to a Senior Customer Relations manager for re-evaluation but this could take upto 8wks. I received a "goodwill gesture" letter from them this morning offering me half my claim of £292 just got off the phone with them they are going to pay out the total claim of £584 without even having to barter :T
I know my claim isnt as much as some peoples but I would say hold in there & stand upto them and don't take no for an answer0 -
Just recieved letter with an offer way below my claim ,so I called the people and had a talk and they were prepared to up it to my full amout less the interest ....

Did it take 8 weeks to hear from them?0 -
Hopefully this will have some effect but with it being halifax, im not holding my breath and fully expect them to come back in about 3 weeks and again decline it, just to waste time.
Hi just to let you know after I rang him yesterday I got an offer of about half the money as a "goodwill gesture" this morningPrizes:
2013 - £3,500; 2014 - £8,200; 2015 - £9,300; 2016 - £6,500; 2017 - £9,500; 2018 - £1,600; 2019 - £2,100; 2020 - £2360!
Thanks for everyone's help getting these xx0 -
Just received the letter stating that the "they have declined my complaint and the charges stand as per the orignal terms and conditions".
Called the 01977 627450 number and spoke to a nice chap who said they send the standard letter to ensure they give a response to the complaint within the 8 week timescales set by the FSO.
He said he would escalate the matter to the relevant people and I should expect a response within 2-3 weeks (possibly sooner). Usually the response will confirm a goodwill gesture will be paid into my account.
I was very polite and said that I want a response within 14 days or I shall do down the legal route.
Keep your fingers crossed guys....
HI there...
had exactly the same letter yesterday. rang them told them not happy and they said they would get a letter out to me within 2 - 3 DAYS. i seem to think they may be genuine as they are only asking for days rather than weeks.
cheers
