I went into branch last week (wed) and recieved statements yesterday. over 270 pages- my postie said "I bet ure reclaiming ure bankcharges" so figure he must be used to so many envelopes!!! anyway have put in claim for £2650. took letter into branch with a list of dates and charges. Just wondered if there is a post in the forums to put together the court papers- I know i'm being keen but "be prepared" is a moto that worked for the scouts so hopefully will work for me!

Thank you for your encouragement and well done you on your good news! I have sent off the letter today threatening legal action and I am going to ring tomorrow to say I am not happy with their response and see if I get as lucky as you. Thanks again and hope you get your money soon.
    Hi ya Ella :)
Just to let you and all the others know I got my "new" letter dated 16th may saying . . .
Thank you for your telephone call of 16 may 2007 about the charges which have been applied to your account. I am pleased I was able to help.

Following our conversation, I would like to confirm that on this occasion we are prepared to increase our goodwill gesture to £5000.00 in recognition of your dissatisfaction. I am very pleased that you have told me that this offer is acceptable to you. Please note that this does not mean that we belive we are under any legal obligation to do so.

To accept this payment you do not need to take any further action as payment will be credited to your account within the next 14 days.

Halifax after 7 weeks offered me half of my £1368 claim to which I negotiated £1300 that they were happy (or unhappy) to pay.

However they have only placed the initial offer of half in my account sending me a letter confirming the full £1300 in reimbursement which will be credited t my account in 14 days. I rang them in 14 days asking for my money and was told 'oh have you not had it yet ?

It is now going into 21 days, although I am in no hurry is it worth considering a summons for the remainder which would have to include interests and my court costs. Could I send back the amount they deposited in my account and claim for the whole lot plus interest? What happens if when the summons is issued they deposit the full amount, can | continue with action to reclaim my costs and interest.

I will write them first but what could I realistically do if they still insist on delaying.

    Hi,
Just got a letter back from Halifax saying the following:
"I have carried out a full investigation into your complaint and I am satisfied the charges have been correctly applied to your account.
When you opened your account, you agreed to the terms and conditions which explained that the charges would be applied if you did not keep to the terms of the account. This information formed part of your agreement with us and we have applied them strictly according to the terms agreed.
I am sorry to advise you I am declining your complaint. If you still remain unhappy you can refer your concerns to the Financial Ombudsman."

Is this a standard letter? If so do I push with the court claim? Any help would be gratefully recieved
    Prizes:
    2013 - £3,500; 2014 - £8,200; 2015 - £9,300; 2016 - £6,500; 2017 - £9,500; 2018 - £1,600; 2019 - £2,100; 2020 - £2360!
Thanks for everyone's help getting these xx

Yes and Yes if you have sent the Letter Before Action and the 14 days is up.
