I must say, although we are all getting a disappointing response from the Halifax, it seems we are all receiving the same letter and they have change tactics somewhat. I am issuing the 3rd letter to say that I will go to court and giving them 14 days to reply. Hopefully this will work but if not, it's time to go legal on them.

    let's not give up, guys!

When did you issue claim as I did mine last week and it has not been served yet??

Wondering if it is because maybe put wrong address on claim. I used the Leeds address as thought this was the right one but see somebody has given the Trinity Road one...............which one did you use?

I was told this morning to use the Leeds address, if this is any use to you.

    PO Box 548
    Leeds

Thanks.......spoke to them and they say no problem. They only change the status to served if Halifax acknowledge the claim, this gets them another 14 days so I might be in luck and not get it acknowledged and then will be able to gain Judgment 14 days before which I need as going away for a month on 20th June!!

One thing they very helpful lady on that number said was that I had issued to a PO Box....did you do the same?? Only prob she says with that is if want to issue a Warrant or send Baliffs in then we need alternative address.
  • Managed to call Halifax today - after they begged me to call. I was on my way to the court. It seems only coincedence that one case loses and they wish to speak with me? I've given them many many warnings BTW. They have made their usual offer which is the full and final settlement offer.

Looking at the wording - does that prevent any future court action against Halifax if I incur any future charges? I think it may.

So I refused their offer, again. And I suppose I now have to go to court. They are offering the full amount but with the condition of full and final settlement. Does Martin have a comment on this?

The woman I spoke to seemed very aggressive and this now seems to be the new Halifax tactic.

    Any advice at all.
