Just send the letter to your local branch, and don't send any copies anywhere.How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

I have got two accounts with Halifax plus a mortgage and a secured loan which I am currently in the process of changing to Abbey.
My questions are:
1. Do I have to send £10 for each of these accounts and mortgage and secured loan to get 6 year statements for each account;
2. Can you claim your bank charges back charged on mortgage and/or secured loan?; and
3. Do I also have to send out separate letters for each of the accounts/mortgage/secured loan. Please advise.
I've just read many many of the stories listed on the website re reclaiming bank charges and it's giving me the courage to attempt to put in a claim.
Good Luck to everyone - this puts me in mind of David & Goliath - does anyone else see this simile?0 -
Hi Everyone, hope you all had a good Xmas & are looking forward to a fantastic New Year.
Wondered if anyone could advise me please? I sent DPA to Halifax on 12th June & got acknowledgement after about 6 weeks, then nothing. I wrote to them again on 29th November, advising they only had 40 days from original request to send statements & asked for my fee back as I've not received them & it's well past 40 days, but they've said that, as I got acknowledgement within 40 days I cannot get my fee back (not really bothered about the fee) & no eta on the statements. Where do I go from here? :mad: :mad::happylove "SEE THE RAINBOW NOT THE RAIN.":happylove0 -

As your accounts are all with the same bank, one cheque for £10 will suffice as you are asking for all Data held on you and not statements on a particular account.
Thread is here giving addresses and what you can claim. As regards claiming on mortgages and/or loans this would only be charges you might have incurred with late or non payments.0 -

I would do as Martin suggests and phone them and complain using the link below and copy in the bank with your complaint.
The bank only has a maximum 40 days to respond. If you don’t get a reply, follow up with a phone call and then report it to the Information Commissioner for a breach.0 -
I'm new to this so try to have patience with me (please!). It took me a long time to be brave enough to send a letter off to HALIFAX PLC requesting my charges info. I wanted to make sure I knew exactly what to do. So I read through time and time again over a matter of weeks and even spread the word about this site. A week before Christmas I wrote the letter, sent it off with a cheque and was really , REALLY chuffed with myself for actually DOING it....... then I realised I forgot to put my account number on the letter! So, I'm asking you lot whether HALIFAX PLC should still have to send me the info in the allotted time. I only have 1 account with them and my name and address was at the top of the letter. I'd be really grateful for any advice. Thank you.0

Hi, I have just sent my letter before court action giving Halifax 7 days to reply. I have heard nothing from them at all throughout sending my letters, they are being very quiet. Do i just go ahead with court action after the 7 days are up or shall i ring them? I sent all the letters recorded delivery & tracked them on RoyalMail.com so i know they've had them. Any advise would be appreciated.Thanks.0

If you don't hear anything, just move straight onto the next stage (issue a court claim).How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?
