Can you not borrow the court fee knowing that you will get it back.......from friends or family?

Used my Halifax credit card to pay the court fee to take Haifax to court... I thought it was quite funny... but I am a bit sad.
  • Is this for a Halifax credit card or bank account with them?

They sent me a letter saying that they are not goint to refund any of my Halifax credit card charges.

I just very unexpectedly got an offer from halifax for £4398.00. My claim was for £6405.00.

I contacted them and declined the offer:eek: ,they were surprisingly very nice and the gentleman said that someone else will give me a call back.

My stomach is jumping, I was just about to complain to the FOS as they declined my request last week, now I'm afraid they say if you don't want our offer, tough!!! Will this happen? Surely not!! Any views? :j :T

    Hi all

I've just received a letter declining my complaint, as the charges were in the T's & C's when I joined the bank.

I'm just wondering, do I really have to threaten court action if they've declined to pay out, or can I go straight to filing the court claim?

Also, does anyone have the correct Halifax address to file the claim against?

Thank you for your help and good luck to all

I would use the registered office address: Trinity Road, Halifax, West Yorkshire.HX1 2RG
Was it the "We have done a full investigation.." letter? In which case you should ring the 0191 number at the top of the letter & tell them that you reject their decision...The bloke there told me today that they will contact me within 7 days to make me an offer...When I stop laughing then I'll let you know how that one goes...

    Snowberry:rolleyes:

Thanks for the help Snowberry. Much appreciated!

Yeah it was the same letter as what you got from them by the sounds of it, only the number to call them on my letter was 01977 627293. I tried calling them for about 45 minutes and every time, it rang for about a minute then just cut off!

What was the 0191 number you called, if you don't mind me asking? I'll give them a try on that and see if I get any joy

    Thanks again

  • i've got the same problem in so
    far as they've said it's a "No !!
    " T & Cs" and all that.
So I've just sent a final !! final !!seven days request/demand, then that's it ,court here we go (as i've got to the
two letter stage by now - and been told to "do one by them" )

My questions though are 2 fold

1 . I've the read the threds on this site and many seem to get a result or offer before getting to the final stage of going to court ,others seem to have to go to the final stage ( like me) Also replys you get back from banks seem to differ from customer to customer, branch to branch ,reading threads on this site, some seem to get a result of payment pretty quick whilst others seem to have to fight tooth & nail -Why? when it's all Halifax?

2 Cos i'm claming back from the Halifax on my current account & Halifax credit card account,if i go to court can i put in 1 claim to the court to support the 2 disputes or do i have to claim each one seperate??

    many thanks andy
    all keep on fighting!!

I got that same letter only last week. I phoned them and told them I wsn't happy and would be going to FOS. The girl I spoke to told me I had no chance. I got an offer today, not what I was claiming but they are going to review thier offer and get back to me. Why don't you try this tactic? Give them a call stating you are dissapointed and wait a week, you have nothing to lose (only a week) and if you get nothing then go the court route. it will save the court cost coming out of your pocket for now!:D

That sounds like TalkTalk...they cut you off & it drove me so mad I left them!!!
The no was:0191 2357810. I go on the presumption that they will call me in a few days and offer me 2/3rds of what they owe me!! & I will say a big fat NO!! Considering they keep your money before it clears & it makes so much interest 4 them...take 'em to the cleaners...they'd do the same to us...
    Best Wishes, Snowberry xXx;)
