The telephone number on the letter they sent me is 01422 391152,i would imagine you get the same recorded message i did.
    Good luck

I have had a letter with 08457253519 to call. Choose option 2 then option 1. Gets you straight through to the section that deals with reclaiming bank charges ;):D

Spare a thought for my friend who wrote to the Halifax on 26 Feb asking for 6 years worth of statements. They cashed her cheque and wrote to her advising that she would have the information after 42 days. It is now 72 days and she is still waiting. They have sent her a list of 3 years worth of charges but nothing else. She has phoned and been promised call backs, she has written again. She has forwarded the information to the commissioner person to complain. She is fuming but seemingly powerless. She so needs the money. Any further advice?? Has anyone else had the same problem?? Please give me some hope I can pass on...

I must be very lucky, because i requested my bank last 6 yeras bank statements over the phone to halifax paid a £5 fee over the phone and recieved 3 years of statements within 7 days, i was a little confused and thought that there must be some lost in the post, i then went into my local branch and requested 6 years worth of statements again, AGAIN i recieved 3 years worth within 7 days, i then rang up again and was told i had only been with the bank for 3 years (i got confused with another of my accounts - how red faced was i!!!!) but she said she would send them out again just to be sure, and yet again i recieved them within 7 days

I then sent my letter requesting a full refund of £2332.00 and recieved the standard we will be in touch within 4 weeks letter only 2DAYS later. That was 7 days ago, so im not sure if i will wait for the four weeks or just go ahead and threaten them to take them to court, I think that i will give them another week then send them the letter what does anyone else think?

i would HIGHLY reccomend anyone to stick to your own time scale and go to court if needs be as i chose to wait and as a result had a total nightmare of a time when speaking with them on the phone which i'm pretty sure is a result of them thinking they could push me around, see my story in the "success" threads, its currently on the last page...

    RECLAIMING BANK CHARGES FROM HALIFAX

    Hi all,

I'm from Edinburgh and sent my 1st claim letter to my local branch on the 26.03.07. It's now been 45 days and i have heard nothing and they have not cashed my cheque of £10. I phoned them and they said because i closed my account in Aug last year they cannot check, they said i could write to them again if i wanted. I'm sooo confused

Anyone got any ideas!!! Should i write to them again and send another cheque and have to wait ANOTHER 40+ days or should i send a letter of complaint and include my March letter. Should i send another cheque at all?? I just don't know what to do. I'm rubbish at all this letter stuff. (thank you Martin for the templates :T )

    Please help
    Clair :hello:

I had to call Halifax this morning as Thames Water messed up a direct debit...of course Halifax is going to charge me..

Anyway I requested my statements again over the phone, initally she said she couldn't do it but then changed her mind & said 6 years of statements would be with me within 3 weeks.

Bit scared they'll close my account before I get my charges back but my charges will cover the overdraft. Hopefully they'll play fair.

    Hi Guys,

Wondering if anyonehas nay experience of this.

I started my claim in Feb and won yesterday, however during this time i have not used my account at all and halifaxc has been charging me just over £100 in all.
So when my proper claim was credited to my account the £100 came of it.

I know im being greedy here but has anyone started another claim.
