    Hi,

Yes, I am 55 days on from applying for s'ments and even though they cashed the chq on 11th April, Nothing!
I wrote to the complaints dpt and just had a reply saying they could not find my infor on file as the credit card is now closed. Called them Friday and was told to call back on Tuesday for an update.
Will giv them til Friday and them send letter to info commissioner and Financial Serv Ombuds.
They have my money so I want my stamements!

Hi I had the same problem obtaining details of charges. Have you tried going direct to your local branch? I did on Thursday and after a phone call to customer relations, the list of charges was emailed straight away and without a charge. Its worth a try, and will save you alot of time and hassle, just explain to the assistant you have written and heard nothing and you should get lucky!

Good luck, I have now sent off my 1st letter requesting approximately £5,800 including interest.

    Hi All

My partner requested copies of bank statements from Halifax back in Feb - more than 70 days later we're still waiting!
We received a letter stating they'd been ordered and would arrive within 10 days.....that was back in March! They provided a phone number to call if they didn't arrive which turns out to be an answering service which probably doesn't even get listened to!
We were so annoyed, we sent them a letter to complain (by recorded post) and sent a copy off to the Information Commissioner, along with all copy docs and a complaint form. That was well over a week ago.....still nothing!

Can we just estimate the charges and take them to court? Really don't think they're going to send anything.

Has anyone else had this problem with Halifax?

hi as I have said above, try popping into your local branch and explaining your situation to the assistant. It worked for me and our list of charges was emailed there and then. you've got nothing to lose.

    Hope this helps

    Good luck

    Thanks for all your replies.

My partner actually closed his Halifax account a couple of years back. The people in our local branch are clueless and find it difficult finding info on the Personal Loan he has with them.

Sorry to ask again, but has anyone else 'guessed' the amount to claim back due to their bank not providing the details?

    Hi

I'm currently in the process of getting £570 worth of charges back from The Halifax. I'm worried that because my account is it a bit of a mess they won't be willing to give me the full amount or even half of it. They have told me i should get an offer back by the 15th May. Has anyone else had any dealings with the Halifax with worries like this?

    Xx

You will most likely get an offer of a small percentage of your claim. It's up to you whether you want to settle for that, or if the claim is enough to warrant going through the whole claims procedure.
Hamsters have no tact and diplomacy, nor do they want any.

I sent the charming folks at halifax a letter threataning court action by recorded delivery, last friday 27th, so should have been with them either saturday or monday at latest. However, whenever i try to trace on line it just says come back once its been delivered. does this mean that royal mail have lost my letter or that halifax refused delivery?

Im thinking as i gave them 14 days to give me a full refund (2200), this is now at least 7 days over but they may not have received.

    any advice?

They have up to 40 days to provide the information.

If you don't have any then, refer to this thread:
