Mojo....I'm in the same situ. I called the main 0845 number and got the satlling chat and i have put on the above posting asking what to do next.....good luck!!!
Whats the number ? is that for the head office ?
Might be worth calling them as they have taken there money and sent me nothing in the preceeding 11 days since taking it
Someone else mentioned that they thought the BOS had got worse since the merger i think the Halifax has got worse since then as they never used to hammer you with charges instantly as they do now0 -

try this:
u can visit halifax branch and ask them to look into your records and they can confirm(my branch manager confirms so they should to u as well)
u can call up on 08457 25 35 19 dont select 1 they will put u on hold for longer or 08456 037960
send an email to customerrelations@halifax.co.uk0 -

i got the same reply vega what you should is send the letter that says that you are not satisfied with response ( step 4 ) or you ll be commencing court action in 14 days . If you dont have a response in 14 days commence court proceedings as stated in step 5
heres link for next letter

Hi all
Have read with interest alot of the posts on here over the last few days while waiting for statements to come from Halifax whom we intend to claim about £2000 (estimated but maybe more!). Sent off letter with £10 cheque on 3rd April and have heard nothing. Having read posts on here, I am wondering if I sent the letter to the wrong branch. I sent it to my local branch where my bank is, should I have sent it to the Head Office! What do I do if I dont hear anything within 40 days. Cheque has not been cashed yet. Any advice would be much appreciated.
Also just out of interest has anyone had any luck with Halifax in the last week or so, because I hear that due to the large amount of claims now being received they are becoming very difficulty and less likely to pay out without a real fight!

Thanks
im claiming 4200 inc interest fingers crossed
i sent one to head office and one to local branch and got them today sent for them on 28th feb 2007. But i complained at branch i hadnt heard anything after 3 weeks so they contacted head office for me and got them emailed to branch within 5 mins, im at court stage now but if waited the 40 days ill just be putting in the claims request in after adding them up lol
So try and get friendly with staff at local branch and they might queue jump like me hehe and get them straight away
but it sounds like they are playing hard to get and pay up at the moment0 -
I send my first letter requesting my list of charges to:
Halifax Bank
Data Protection Manager
Trinity Road
Halifax
West Yorkshire
HX1 2BR
Is the right? I am now sending the letter giving them 7 days to get them out to me or I will complain to the Commissioner. Should I send it to the above address? Well, they cashed the £10 cheque anyway.Barclaycard: £4,217.55/£5 = 0.11% | Tesco £3,810.55/£3,770.55 = 1.05%
Total: £8,027.80/£5 = 100%/0.06%
Mortgage £99,692/£51,652.33 51.8%
Car Loan: £9,217.20/7,527.38 81.67%
