The Defendant is allowed a total of 28 days from the date from when they are served with the claim to reply.

hiya!!
Thank you so much for the great threads on here!! I have just sent my first letter off to Halifax for £160.07 I know its not much but hey its money they took off me when I was low (which I still am but better at handling my money!!) so hopefully will hear from them soon. Has anyone else had money off halifax? Do they do it straight away or are they one of the awkward ones who take you to court?? Dont think I'd like that but ill do it anyway because I think that its so wrong. Thanks again!! pls pls let me know

I am in the process of reclaiming from Halifax//BOS. I feel quite aggreived because I have been a customer since I was 14 (now 28) and have noticed the shift in attitude since the Halifax take -over (I was a BOS customer).
I am their ideal target customer, grown up with the brand have mortgage, life insurance, travel insurance, savings and a reasonable salary hitting the account every month.
I sent my letter on March 7th and have had no response to it or the ten messages that I have left on thier recorded telephone answer service. I have sent a Complaint to the Data Commissioner and as of this moment I have been in a que for their complaint line for 37 mins.
How do I make them give me the information now?0 -

Hi All
First post here
I sent off my statement request to the Halifax head office on the 21st of March and although they cashed the cheque on the 13th of April i still havent received my statements
What should i do now ? wait the 40 days (is this working days) or phone them and if so what is the number to phone ? Do i phone my own branch ? or head office
Thanks in advance

Hi
I phoned the halifax for my statements and recieved them twice in one day !!! (Sorry Postie - 25 envelopes must have been a pain !!) within a week. In addition they didn't bother to apply any charge to my account and once i submitted the letter and detail of claim I recieved a letter of acknowledgment within three days. I am now still awaiting any futher reponse but they have a few days before i take it to the next stage !!0
