I`m currently in process of taking the Halifax to Court. They have acknowledged the claim.
My claim is for £1500 inc interest. Today i received a offer of £500.00 from them. Should i stick them out for the full amount inc interest or ask for a better offer...........

That offer is risible, they are taking you for a fool. Once there is a court claim going on, you are entitled to the full amount plus interest plus court fees, so don't give up now - trust me, they will cave in eventually.

That is a joke, Just hold off and they will def offer you more. HBOS do not want to be dragged through the courts

  • after recieving two letters from the halifax saying they are dealing with my complaint and i will hear form them soon, well i have recieveda gesture of good will of 1,943,00 which is great, only the amount i was claiming for was 3,964.00. i would love to hear from anyone who has been offered an amount and declined and still taken it to the small claims court. I am not sure what to do, i will probably be the one who takes it futher and then recieves nothing.

    a very unsure hazyfos

cannot answer your Q as I have not had an offer , no responses at all. However I have ploughed on as per advised procedures and have nowissued at court
I am answering as ,we are all prob in the same boat and mind set as re your last comment I am convinced that I am going to be the one who the banks decide to go "all the way" and end up with nothing.
  • There is loads of info about this on here, Hazel, you just need to trawl through it unfortunately.

I believe you can accept it as part payment but advise them you will be demanding the rest or you can flatly refuse it and put in a claim for the full amount.

Have a look through one of the Halifax threads. I doubt very much whether you will end up with nothing.
