hi am new to this site very interesting just been on the phone to bank my cheque for bank statements was cashed on 05/04/07 they said i should have my statements within ten days what should i do when i receive them.

I've just got to the court stage, my claim was filled this morning. Does it matter if I've entered my branch as the defendant or should it be the head office?
Also, they have 5 days to be serves the claim and then 14 days from that point (30th April in this case) to issue a defence.
Finally, thanks to all those who have posted on here, reading some of the stories and issues has been an amazing help. The work you have done and continue to do is fantastic......thanks!!:T0 -

The nice thing about entering the local branch as the defendant is that if you get a judgement against them and they don't pay, you can send the baliffs in to the branch to retrieve goods!0 -
Hi
Received a letter from the Halifax today saying they would repay me £750, I phoned them and declined their offer as I am claiming £908, the lady on the phone said no problem we will refund you the full amount as a gesture of goodwill and the amount should be in my account within 14 days!!
Thank you everyone on this site for your support I would never have had the guts to go through with it without you all!
Downside is it will just pay my overdraft off but one less debt!0 -
WELL DONE YOU !
How long have you waited ? i am dealing with the Halifax also .?0 -
It has taken me approx 6 weeks after receiving my statements, I was due to file for court action yest but thought I would give them a couple of days extra because of bank holidays!0

I have had terrible time with the halifax tho, they pulled my overdraft as soon as I requested my charges, I also received a letter from the collections department this morning saying if I did not repay my overdraft in 7 days further action would be taken. Called them up and said when your other department credits my account with bank charge refund the overdraft will be clear! Guy on the end of the phone was very snotty and said he would make a note of that but could not stop any further action that may be taken!0

afternoon folks,
after the above message which i posted and thought was strange as no one else seems to have been told, i pout 5 in my account as not used any more and needed to pay for the statements. called to check progress yesterday only to be told iv incurred an interest charge of approx 80p which is great as can only get to bank at weekend so will no doubt push my claim back even further.
Anywho, i get just now to find a letter from the charming halifax folks which starts
"thank you for your recent telephone call to our Retail Call Centre. It is my understanding that you are looking to challange against our charge policy and as such claim back any charges you incurred over the last 6 years. Due to the nature of this request, I have escalatef your complaint to a Senior Customer Relations Manager, whom will respond to you in due course"
and goes on to explain that should my concerns remain unsolved to let them know my concerns and if they HAVENT HEARD FROM ME IN THE NEXY 8 WEEKS they will assume I am happy.
Has anyone else received such a letter? If so, what was the outcome. Iv read plenty of posts but none again that sounds like this. With this being the 2nd strange contact Iv had, im beginning to get a tad concerned.
Any advice or comments would be most welcome
Cheers
Well as anticipated, the halifaxs attempt to help me claim my charges back have just crashed on its !!!!. Despite never recived my original statement request and having this confirmed by 3 different people, they last week cashed my £10 cheque. called them up to ask how if they never received have they now managed to cash my cheque and what happened to not sending statements and they will inform me of charges? the dense woman i spoke with advised that their policy changes all the time and then adv "if they have cashed your cheque, at least it looks like they are doing something". most unimpressed, I advised that as my cheque was signed for on 9th March, they have only 9 more days to send my statements in accordance with the DPA.
In no way do i expect to receive these and if I dont, whats the next step if they still havent got my statements to me within the 40 day period?
cheers folks0 -
