Thanks for that. The more I read other posters stories and progress the more worried I feel about it. Has anyone had to go the whole way with Halifax? I also listed the intrest in the first letter and am now thinking I may have done better going for just the£2162.00 they took in charges.
Keep me posted blustu and Ill keep you upto date with mine0 -
I am in the initial stages of claiming for my charges - I have sent the letter off to Halifax requesting my charges over the last 5 years (live in Scotland). I was working tonight but the bank called and I wasn't in. Anyone know what they will be asking me - ill be calling them tomorrow but just so that im prepared, its not every day that the bank manager calls you:rolleyes:0

It could be any number of things. Most likely either they want to offer you some money or that your claim has no basis and they won't be paying.
Whatever it is, DO NOT enter into discussions on the phone. Request that all correspondence is in writing. You then have a clear record of what's been said/agreed by both parties.0 -
Hi all,
Can somebody just check to see that I am going about this in the right way before I send a letter off to the Halifax please.
I walked into my local branch last week & paid £5 for my statements, which arrived today.
I have printed off the template letter datailing the charges against me totaling £182.
I am about to send it rmsd to my local branch(this is where I send it to? & not head office?)
Thanks.0 -

Hi!
Yes I sent my request for money to my local branch and got a reply a couple of days later saying they had passed it onto their customer relations department.0 -
Thanks for that lou_lou
Because its comming upto the Christmas period, I'm just wondering if the 14 day reply bit will still count?0 -

Yeah I was thinking that myself!
I think I might count 14 days from their reply rather than 14 days from my first letter to give them a few extra days with it been Christmas :rolleyes:0 -

Hi,
Sent off and got back my partners banks statements going back to 2003. I note
that the total charges is >6k without interest! (Before she me me the miser!) My
question is should I claim the full amount + interest or will this stop me going through the small claims court? Should I perhaps choose a date that equates to
@4.5k instead. Apologies if this is the incorrect forum for this!0 -
Just posted off the letter requesting the last 6 years info in regards to Halifax! Wish me luck!!!THE LONG AND THE SLOW ROAD SEEM TO APPLY TO DEBTS AND DIETS... THE TWO THINGS I WANT TO SEE THE BACK OF...:D0
