hello there, sorry I cannot help with advice on this one, but would be interested to hear others advice as Halifax have untill Thursday next week to pay money owed to me. My offer letter came from a David Atkinson, and the wording said" I will make sure you get your refund within 14 working days of receiving your form" Any advice helpfull!Halifax- settled £1800 (spent)
Woolwich settled £505 (spent)
Capital 1- settled £1345 after defending on mcol (aw:j :j :j0 -
Thanks. My letter said the same - "I will then make sure you get your refund within 14 working days of receving your form". Now they have confirmed that the one week delay - I feel there should be a next step to follow. I was considering going through the small claims court as I am doing with my Lloyds claim but thought the offer was acceptable. I now wish I had gone on to the court process. I wish you good luck with yours!!0

hi there, just phoned customer relations and told them that if money was not in account by said date, we would consider the offer to be null and void and will be filing in court the next day. Lady we spoke to not very helpfull or optomistic money would be in account but did say there was a 'notification of payment on our account and usually money goes into account a day or two after this.' Not holding out much hope! Could do with someone who knows what they are talking about to post on this thread and tell me if I am right in saying we can file at court if money not paid in by agreed date. Anyone?????Halifax- settled £1800 (spent)

If you've sent the 2nd letter, the time is up and they've not offered a full refund, you proceed to the court stage.
You can write the part-payment letter, it's up to you. They will soon get the idea when the court papers arrive claiming for the full amount plus interest plus costs.0 -
 What happens now? has anyone had this before? I must admit my heart skipped a beat when I saw the acknowlegdment and that that they intend to defend this. Is this a Halifax stalling tactic?0

Same happened to us. My husband rang Halifax litigation department and asked what they intend to defend and they said there isnt anything to defend and they just reply to court in this way to give them more time to pay!0

i had the same when claiming against the halifax very recently, it gives them another 14 days on top of what they are permitted after you have served notice of claim, 5 days after getting this same notice halifax repaid all my charges into my account. stay strong .0
