I sent my letter off to halifax requesting charges an never heard back within the two week deadline I gave them so yesterday I sent letter saying I would be taking them to court if they still didn't reply. Only askin for about £400 back so would of thought they'd have said somethin. How long did it take them to reply to every1 else??
you could try ringing them. It works for some people, worth a try anyway
good luck0 -
The 14 days from the step 4 letter are up on the 10th..thought I'd call & see how my claim was going
The lady said they have until the 14th May to respond to me. I relayed all the above & she said we don't answer to your deadlines, we go by the FSA 8 week deadline due to the volume of complaints we have had over this. If you have not heard from us after the 14th May you can complain to them. So I said I shall be filing a claim online on the 11th, unless I do hear from you with an offer....you do that she said! haha0 -

I am looking for help please.
OH and I are in the process of making a claim through Halifax.
We sent the 1st and 2nd letters (without reqeusting interest) and received a settlement after the 2nd letter. We were reqeusting £407 (this is as I said minus the interest) and were offered £246 (or thereabouts).
I want to pursue the claim further for the full sum and interest if possible.
Do i now write the letter that says thanks for the offer which we accept in the interim, however we intend to claim the full amount through the court. At this stage do I go to Money claim also? If not, what do I do now? Do I have to writ eback to Halifax and say the offer is not acceptable, we want the full amount including intrest and give them another 14days?
Thanks so much in advance, we are getting married in September so this will help us muchly! It's nice to be nutty but's more important to be nice0 -

Today halifax sent me a letter offering me a settlement, on top of the letter there is a telephone number which I called to re negotiate the settlement, it is a direct number and it was answered straight away. The number is for customer relations but it is a different number .
They agreed to pay my full claim, so good luck to everyone else who are still going through the process

i sent my letter threatening with court letter to days ago by recorded delivery so they should have got it yesterday. I too received the 8 weeks according to financial services letter blah blah if you get one of them send the court letter immediately giving them 14 days to reply due to their unsatisfactory response. I await their reply so fingers crossed
amount reclaiming
3200 ish
4060 ish including interest
i suggest to anyone that it is you that dictate the timescales and not the bank
1
if sending your letter concerning the list of charges, send by recorded delivery and like me build a rapport with someone at your local branch smile and be nice. I have a young lady called Lisa at mine and shes brill and following my case with court, she got me the list of charges for free after id rung up about them
2
halifax tend to misplace letters send one to head office based in leeds
and one to the branch by hand
3
Be patient

Be prepared have backup copies of everyone you spoke to and letters sent. I have a folder on pc called ' charges ' if you make a call notepad an entry of when what time and who you spoke to. If your unsure or get caught out theyll be messing about with you , this way you know everything and you know what your on about
5
Dont back down your the boss banks are your monkeys you are the power on this occasion you tell them not they tell you

Hi, I just wondered if the halifax has credited your account yet? I phoned them again today, but as my 14 working days is not up until tomorrow they will not do anything. So i have decided that if its not in my account by 12 tomorrow I am gonna phone them and say that if its not in my account by the close of business i will reject the offer and file for court. Surely it cant take this long to put money in!!! Becky0
