I posted this on a different thread but meant to put it on here with my previous threads.
Hi, I was a bit perplexed by all this reclaiming stuff but after going onto this site and reading what others were doing and saying I carried on with it, but I have good news guys I sent the court letter over two weeks ago and started to fill in the on line court form last night as its now over the 14 days, dont faint I received a letter this morning from halifax offering me £2070. Sounds great but the full amount owed to me is actually £2256, with interest that amount goes up to £2456.79.... Sooooooo do I accept the lesser amount which is not what they have taken from me or do I phone them and barter and say I will accept £2256, without interest??? Help, it also appears that they are not going to close down my account, they have included a letter stating that if I accept this payment I can not claim on any further bank charges which will be at the full rate of £30 etc can they still charge this amount, surely they have admitted liability by offering to reimburse my charges.......0 -
I am not sure what to do next. I have sent a letter to my branch a month and a half ago recorded delivery. Then i rang customer relations who told me to send the letter to them so i did recorded delivery again. Then i had no response so i rang them and they told me i had to wait 40 days for acknowledgement of my letter. I wrote to the financial obudsman who wrote to the bank and told me to get back to them if i hear nothing within a month. Do i just sit back and wait? I cannot believe the Halifax have not even sent me a letter acknowledging my complaint. I am trying to claim back just over 800 pounds without interest. Thanks in advance for any advice.0

Hi,
OK - they sent me all my bank statements for the past 6 years so finally got to trawl through them all and highlight them.
Biggest - 285 quid in ONE month is ONE charge !!! Is that a record ?
Hmm I'll let you know how I get on.0 -
Gosh, I would hate to think what the actual interest you were charged was0

you just need 1 claim form from courts as mine is over £750 and i just called my local court Hamilton and they sent me out a form that i filled in then it goes to sheriff officers as mine is going tomorrow to halifax to claim all my charges back for £3,6000

I posted this in a separate thread but thnk i'll get a better response in here
I'm currently claiming charges from Egg and Barclaycard and both are going well.
However, i've just gone over my overdraft limit in my Halifax account. i've had 3 payments made on my debt car, each incurring a £30 charge, and a £28charge for going over the limit in the first place. i received a letter stating they will apply the 3x £30 charges on 5th April, and the £28 charge on the 30th April.
obviously i'm not going to lay down and take these charges and am not afraid to take them to court as i'm currently in the process of taking Egg to court (1 week to go till i win!). but since they haven't yet been charged, what are my options?Aiming to pay off £50,312.94 in less than 3 years - Starting from December 2015
Current debt total: £32,756.02 (as of 1st March 2018)
Date Free Date Aim: Summer 2019 (8 extra months needed)

So, since mine is over £6k, would I just have to contact hamilton court as well, that is my local court too!
Does it cost anything for the papers to be sent out?0 -
