Just a quickie before I watch Wales stuff the mighty San Marino!!
I am about to send off my 14 days to pay or off to court letter, I intended to send it to my branch but does anyone think it would be better to send it to the customer relations place where the letter will be forwarded anyway.
My 1st claim letter was delivered but due to an idiot postman, wasn't scanned on delivery so I couldn't trace when the letter arrived at the branch. This is why I've given them an extra week so as to try and play it by the book.
I am going to send the next letter guaranteed next day delivery even though it's a lot more expensive you know exactly when it will be there.

Well done Melvin so chuffed for you, I hope I Get the same result! I have sent my letter giving 14 days till court action, so I do hope I get a phone call also, can anyone tell me what the number is that Halifax use to call you? Reason I am asking is I do not pick up numbers I do not know!thanks miz, Well after posting my message i actually got a phone call from the Halifax this afternoon offering me £700 good will gesture of the £1004 i originally asked for, of course i refused saying that i was just typing up my next letter adding the interest. She put me on hold and them came back with another offer of £900 saying that they have incurred cost, again i refused and said that it was'nt good enough. We finally settled on £1000. She is sending me an agreement letter to sign and on receipt of that the money will be in my account in 14 days. What a result i could'nt believe it, things like this never happen to me, I'm over the moon.
To all of you who are feeling bogged down by the halifax please please dont give up it will happen for you all just keep trying.
Thanks to Martin for this fantastic website without you i would not have dared to challenge tha bank.
think i might try the A&L next!!!!

Hi there,
I am currently in the process of reclaiming £3000 back from Halifax , I sent a letter requesting statements going back 6 years they sent them to me all in seperate envelopes about 32 envelopes dropped through my door !!!!!
I wrote to them asking for my money back with the 2nd letter on Martins site and I had no reply at all . I then sent the 3rd letter threatening court proceedings I did this last week and have given then 14 days to reply I did receive a letter telling me they had received my statements and they will be in touch , I will let you know how I get on , I am hoping very much that they will settle the claim as I am quite worried about taking them to court , however if thats what it takes !!

Hi, I send all mine to Customer Relations via recorded delivery and they are tracked as received the next day, if you take it to your branch you really are delaying on time for them to act on it! I sent my court action letter 26th March and was delivered 27th, so I am hoping for my offer by phone call, will keep you posted GOOD LUCK :beer:0 -
I got my phone call this afternoon on my mobile and it came through as Unknown0
