Having sent the Halifax my claim 12 days ago, I have just received a reply thanking me for my complaint and stating that the FSA allows them up to 8 wks to investigate and respond. I presume this is just another tactic??? will someone please confirm that this is the case and that I should now continue with court action.
Thank you in advance0 -

I sent my first letter off requesting statements on the 5th Feb, received letter yesterday saying that the statements would be sent under seperate cover.
The postman kindly delivered me a big fat envelope this morning containing 99 pages of statements! Its going to take me a while to go through them all, got to make a copy of them first and that in its self will take a while to scan them into the pc.
From what i have already glanced at with them there are a fair few charges on there.
OO im getting quite excited by it all now!!!! LOL
Good luck everyone with their claims too.Love is all around! :rotfl:

Hello everyone, this is my first post but I've been using this excellent site for reference and keeping an eye on this thread particularly as I am currently claiming my charges from the Hallifax. Here's my timeline so far :-
22/2 Statements requested for two accounts on the phone. Thanks to https://www.saynoto0870.com you can trace a landline number for 08457 203040 which is 0113 3809574. You dial this from your landline for the cost of a UK call or if like me you have free calls to landlines from your mobile you can ring them up, they can even go away and keep you hanging on for 5 mins and it won't cost you a bean. The fella I spoke to even guessed I wanted 6 years worth of statements.
1/3 Statements arrive
6/3 After some sorting and photocopying claim for £5250 and copies of the statements containing charges are sent 1st class recorded delivery to my local branch. I give them a day for the letter to be delivered so I make the
14th day Tuesday 20th March.
16/3 I have received the standard acknowledgement with the usual 8 weeks to look into your complaint etc. etc. I cannot find out using the track & trace function at the Royal Mail when the package was signed for.
My question to fellow board members and I think I know the answer already, is do I give them 14 days from the date on the letter which is the 15th March or carry on with my own timeline.0 -

would be grateful if anyone could help0 -
Hi bradock, I just noted down the date and amount charged in the space on the template letter and sent that off. I'm sure you dont have to send your statements.0
