They actually offered me £1078 of a £1301 claim. I telephoned them and rejected the offer and they put me on hold. Came back on the phone and then offered me £1250. As they'd already paid a full claim of £317 for another account that I'd had with them I decided to accept.

Keep us posted on how you get on. Good luck.

:T hopefully i should hear from them aswell but if i dont within 14 days of recieving that dreaded 8 week letter ill send off my next letter

    thanks alot
I had a similar experience I had sent the second letter giving 7 days notice of court proceedings (the only reason I had not issued them was that I was brasic, didn't want to occur a bank charge) I was paid in full 14 days after the 8 weeks letter

Hi Peeps - its me again!

I dont know what to put in the letter where you make reference to court action? Do I say 'small claims' or Lancashire Court or what? (Im in Preston, Lancs)

If anyone can shed any light Id REALLY appreciate it! :D
    :o Financially Confused:o
  • thanks alot guys will keep you posted i tried to ring them tonight but customer services in leeds closed at 5pm not open till monday ,so ill wait the 14 days then send my letter
hopefully ill get my £1396 back
one more thing my partner put interest on top but she added it up wrong and it was a lot lower than what the interest actually is so if i send them another letter do i ask for the same amount or put the correct interest in or just the bank charges(i dont want to sound dumb to halifax with 2 different amounts that they fob me off)

If they make an offer it is unlikely that they will pay the interest. If it goes to court they will award the relevant interest. It is OK to update each letter.

I just wrote "court" ie and therefore the court will rule in my favour.

    Hi

After reading with interest I requested my statements from Halifax, got them no trouble and worked out they owed me £950 so I have sent them the letter requesting my charges back.

Received a letter yesterday informing me that they are pulling my overdraft (£1000) due to my account conduct!!!!!!!

Spoke to a very unhelpful chap who told me there was nothing he could do about it, I made it known that they have done it because I have requested my charges back and because I am on Incap benefit I will only be able to pay the overdraft back in small installments.

What a lovely bunch these are, needless to say I am now trying to open a new account and have cancelled all monies going in and out from that account, tho this is proving difficult as I do have some adverse history, I am waiting for the co op to get back to me.

Just one other point I sent the letter to them above a week ago recorded delivery but it is still not showing as delivered on royal mail, any advice?

I sent letter by recorded deliver and a week later still not showing on royal mail web site. I sent royal mail an e.mail to enquire but meantime I have received a reply to my letter so obviously it was delivered. Possibly just a glitch with Royal mails electronic recording?
