Hi if you re-send the original letters are you expected to pay again tho ?
Ive just prepared a letter for statements I had already for my 6 month old account ..the charges come to £236 with £3.07 interest .... :D and its going to the customer relations in leeds this time
    Im not really mad...
  • Hi, same as yourself wanting to know a similar answer. I'm currently follwing the step by step approach, the last letter i sent to Halifax was asking for my unlawful charges back with interest, giving them 14 days to reply. They have replied saying the complaint handing rules regulated by the FSA gives them 8 weeks to investigate. Is this correct and do i wait, giving the banks more time to find a way out of this nightmare, or do i send the next letter giving them 7 days or court.

    Thanks, Tony.

Hi everyone, just to give you all a bit of hope, I sent my letter to Halifax on 26th February claiming money off 2 cardcash accounts. Account 1 £1301 and Account 2 £317. Had a letter on the 3rd March saying it would take 8 weeks for the to sort the issue out. However, had a letter yesterday regarding account 1 offering me £1078. Telephoned Halifax and rejected the offer, lady put me on hold then came back and offered me £1250 - I accepted. Had another letter today regarding account 2 offering me £317.
  • As you see from my earlier posts I was told that it was 40 days from when the cheque was cashed which we all know is a load of c**p. I sent them a 2nd letter last Thursday by Special Delivery (which they recieved on the Friday) telling them they must reply by the 27th March. I sent my original letter to them on 14th Feb I havent even had an agknowlegement from them all I know is that they cashed the cheque some 19 days after I sent the letter. Im contemplating sending them a letter before the 40 days is up to remind them that the clock is ticking, is there a templte on here for that ??

    Thanks

Just an update on what I did, after sending my request with 2 £10 cheques.. waited almost 3 weeks with no reply, then phoned customer complaints/services on 08456 037923 on Monday, The £20 was refunded to my accounts, and a list of charges arrived on Wednesday! Then today 35 pages of statements arrived!! Already sent an e-mail asking if they'd like to settle before action, also posted my claim letter today, about £3,000 in total.. Here's Hoping:)
  • When sending letters to halifax did you send them to your local branch, or did you send letters to customer relations in Leeds.

    Many Thanks

    tony

Hi Tony, I sent my letters to Halifax plc, Customer Relations, PO Box 548, Leeds, LS1 1WU. Don't forget to send them recorded delivery. As I stated I had the standard reply saying they were going to take 8 weeks to look at my comlaint but it's just a fob off. Found they dealt with it in a timely manner.

    Good luck.
