halifax bank charges (merged)

You can definitely claim these unlawful charges from HBOS. Its a bank account and they have applied these ridiculous charges and you have the right to ask for them back.
1 - Request all your statements - 6Yrs England - 5yrs Scotland
2 - Get the highlighter out and mark all your charges
3 - Send the second letter off and keep to your dates.
I would recommend that you send recorded delivery.

Hi - I only have a basic bank account with the Halifax which I have had for 10 years - which has an Electron card and chequebook but no chequecard or overdraft - I have had lots of charges over the past years ranging from £28 when I first opened my account to currently £39 per bounced cheque/DD - can I reclaim on such an account or is it only on "proper" current accounts. Also when I get a bank charge it usually takes me into overdraft and then I am charged an unauthorised overdraft charge. Can someone give me some advice before I start off the proceedings.
Thanks
My post answering you was moved. I replied to say that yes you can claim on this type of account. Follow the templates and guidelines on this site and good luck0 -
keep doing what martin's timescale states, Halifax are waiting for the april to so they don't have to pay out so much. Continue doing what you have to do the didn't stop to think about anyone when they were taking the money, that's why they are always able to make millions of profit. Read the sucess stories to boost your confidence.
:T quite right! AND they are still taking the charges out at 39.00 as we speak, I had two on Friday and one last week! :mad:We will win this! we will!.... and we did! :j0 -
Halifax have acknowledged my claim now on moneyclaim online - which means I have another 16 days left to wait now
Does anyone have any advice as to what to do next? I'm worried they are going to stall until april when the announcement is made... is it worth me phoning them to see if they will make an offer?0 -
Hi,
Im just typing my 3rd letter to Halifax threatening them with court action within another 14 days unless they pay me back...Im still unsure of what to put where it says ...therefore ....(put in courts name) will rule in my favour. Do I just put ...therefore my local court will rule in my favour?
1 more question. Is it absolutley essential to ask for intrest too? I didn't in my initial letter so is it too late to add it on now? But..when I use matins intrest calculator it says my intrest is 0!? Is it because it's such a small amount?
Thanks, Helen xlove my little man he is amazing :j0 -

The letter states that in the terms and conditions it clearly outlines the charging policy:mad: I am going to send off the letter now threatening court action but can i now claim intrest?
someone please help0 -
