Halifax are definately using delaying tactics. Isn't fair trading going to come to a decision on Bank charges by the end of April???
I am just sending off the letter letting them know that 60% of my claim is not enough and I want the full amount. final court date for Judgement is 19th March.

Hi Helen, I've personally send copies to my local branch where I opened my account and also Trinity Road. Both I've sent recorded delivery and there is no question of not receiving anything! ;)

Hi Magatag, Thanks for that. Which court do I have to name though? And is it 7 days from the day they recieve the letter that you have to file a claim with court?

    Thanks,Helen x

  • I was told yesterday by the halifax, that its only £5 threy charge (I sent £10) and that there where 'very dubious' websites telling people to send £10 lol!!! I sent mine to Customer Relations in Leeds, I would address it to a Customer Relations Manager, that was something I didnt do and I would send it special delivery it cost me £4.10, but its tracked all the way by Royal Mail, as recorded isnt tracked until its delivered so it can get lost easily.
i wrote asking halifax for 6 years worth of bank statements back in december, i didnt send any money as t that stage i wasnt aware tha\t i had too, however the halifax just deducted £10.00 from my account with them and forwarded them..... eventually, when i read on these forums that halifax were charging only £5.00 i rang them and they told me that the rate is indeed £10.00, .
  • hi i sent my first letter off to the halifax asking for my bank charges back and recieved a letter from their customer relations department saying they have 8 weeks to investigate and respond to complaints. does anyone know if i have to wait up to 8 weeks to send the next letter threatening court action or can i say i'm not satisfied with their responce and send it straight away.
i would be gratefull if anyone can give me some advise.
    many thanks brad.

  • can someone advise pls

Claimed via mcol on 2/3/07 it is 8 days on and it still says issued. When do I start 14 day count down to judgement from. on their advise line it says it should say served after 5 days and 14 days starts from then. Are they slow at updating thier online claims or does it take this long to be served? .

    Any help gratefully accepted
