Hi everyone, am new to this so apologies if i'm in the wrong place!
Sent my statement request on 7th March to Halifax.
Same to Capital One.
Can I do the same for Grattan just received a statement from them with £24 charges!
If so do I have to pay for the statements?
Great site by the way!0 -
Finished MCOL form today and paid the £120.
My Story so far:-
9th Jan Requested Statements
29th Jan Letter received saying will be with us in 10 working Days
19th Feb Received Statements (Should have been with us on the 12th going by previous letter)
19th Feb Added up charges sent letter by recorded delivery giving 14 days to pay me back otherwise going to court
27th Feb Received Letter saying they would deal with my case in the 4-8 weeks as set out by their Regulator and said they received the letter on the 23rd Feb
28th Feb Wrote letter to say if it wasn’t dealt with by the 9th March I would be taking the Legal route (recorded delivery was signed on 22nd Feb!!!)
8th March Phoned up to see if they were willing to discuss my claim. They said they would be sticking to their 4-8 weeks.
9th March MCOL filled out
p.s. My mate started his claim at the same time as mine with First Direct. He has had his charges back already.0 -

Hey guys, hoping you could offer some advice
I contacted my bank and got the statements (the charges added up to over £1300), I sent a letter requesting them back and giving them 14 days until I file in the small claims court
I got a standard response with a complaints leaflet saying they would look into it and it would take 4 weeks
At this point I waited until the 14 days were up and then filed with moneyclaim online - not realising I should have sent a reply letter saying I would take them to court again as mentioned in the guide
Am I going to be screwed now because I forgot this?
They have not responded to the moneyclaim online yet and they have until the 14th March to do this, but I'm worried even if it goes through I have no chance as I didnt send the other letter
Does the 14 days I gave them count as enough time for the issue to be resolved before court action?
Thanks in advance for any help you can give

as Follows
Thank you for your recent complaint
We are sorry to learn that you are unhappy with the charges debited to you bank account. Please note the complaint handling rules set by our regualtor the FSA gives us up to 8 weeks to investigate and respond to complaints.
Well I wasnt complaining I was asking for the "illigal" charges to be returned so I suppose its second letter time0 -

My original letter said I would give them 14 days until I took them to court. Unfortunately they didn`t want to resolve it in that timescale so I took them to court. I actually thought why should I give them another 7 days my mates bank has been efficient and they are teying to drag their heels. Don`t worry they may just act a bit quicker now.0
