Hello all i am new on here but been lurking for a while now. I finally decided after reading all the good success stories to apply for my own charges back.
I sent my 1st letter off to my own branch of halifax on the 23/02/07 with a cheque for £10 in, i received a nice letter back along with my cheque for £10 off my branch manager on the 27/02/07 informing me that she has ordered the statements and that i should receive them within 10 bank working days, those statements arrived this morning 05/03/07.:D I have worked out what i am owed back hopefully but should you claim the intrest aswell?
Thanks in advance:T0 -

Hi, can anyone please help me on this question please. I recently sent a letter to Halifax asking for my previous 6 ys statements. I sent it recorded delivery which I have confirmed was delivered to the Halifax on Wednesday 28th Feb. I used Royal Mails Tracker Service. I phoned my bank to check that it was all going through on the system o.k and was told then had not received the letter, after explaining to them that they have received it as it was signed for I was then informed to phone them on Saturday morning 3rd March as it would definately have been updated on the computer system. BUT When phoning again I was told no letter had been received and told to phone back this morning Monday 5th. Guess What I phoned this morning to be told AGAIN it's not on the system and I should phone back on Friday 9th March or Saturday the 10th march to confirm if it had been updated. If not I would have to re-apply for my statemnts. Does any-one have any advice on this please. Are they stalling for time do you think or have they genuinely lost my letter ALTHOUGH it has been signed for at the branch. PLEASE HELP WHAT SHOULD I DO NOW.0

I am currently trying to get my bank statements for the last 6 years from the halifax, i have sent a letter requesting them with the address provided on this website thread, via first class recorded delievery. The first attempt at this appears to have gone missing, and my second attempt is yet to arive also. Just a moment ago i was reading the addresses again, and i noticed that on two seperate posts in the reclaim your charges help thread the post codes were different. so prehaps this is the reason. Does anyone know which is the correct one? Or am i doing it wrong trying to send by recorded delievery?
Many thanks0 -

Hello All, Does anyone know whether the Halifax are likely to cancel the mortgage I have with them, Has anyone had any experience of this when reclaiming their charges?
Also I know this may sound a little dense but I have a joint account with my husband plus my own account and my husband has his own account also. Should we request charges seperately or is it ok to send one letter for all the accounts?
If I do send one letter do I have to send three lots of £10's for each account to cover the maximum charge of sending me the info i require to reclaim the charges.
Any one have any ideas. Thanks Kath0 -
Hi
Having read everything we can on this fantastic site, we have started our claims with the easiest. Our old Halifax account that we closed in July 2006 and our Halifax CC which we still have but don't use.
Unfortunately, I didn't read that it was only £10 charge per bank and I sent 2 seperate cheques. Both have been cashed. Can I claim back the extra £10 I paid out when I didn't need to?
I wish everyone luck with their claims. We will be going after our other 2 credit cards once we have sorted this one out. Currently we are waiting for our statements to arrive, then it will get rather exciting and nerve wracking I guess.0 -

I have been informed today that my statements are now on their way to me. And I should receive them in the next 7 days. So fingers crossed on getting them soon0 -
Hi Everyone,
I have just looked at my bank account and the Halifax has debited my account by £5 as per agreed when I called a week last Saturday to request all my statements. They told me that it would take 7 days. Obviously we are a bit over that now, but as the charge has now gone out today, I am assuming that someone is processing my statements request.
Does anyone know how long it takes for the statements to start coming through once your account has been debited?
Many thanks

It's a long road but I'm getting there! :T0 -
Rang them today and asked if they wished to settle before I opened court proceedings. I suggested it would save them some money as I would be claiming costs and interest. The lady I spoke to said that my letter wasn't due to go out 'til the 20th March so I would have to wait 'til then.
I politely declined, MCOL case opened 1hr later !0
