What are accountant maintenance fees? I have a whole lot of them and the bank can't tell me what they are? Can I claim for those?
Thanks.

            Hi there
After waiting since mid-December for my 6 years of statements off Halifax finally received this week and now sent my first letter asking for £3600 of charges back.
Since then in the last cpl of days they have charged me 4 x £39.00 for 4 x bounced d/d's. One of them was only for 4 quid!
I phoned them last night to see what they could do and they offered to reverse one of the £39 charges, but point-blank refused to consider removing the others.
My question is, whilst I appreciate I've already submiited a large claim for the old charges, can I go on and send them an additional latter to try and re-coup these very recent ones? I'm very satisfied that I'm hoping to get £3K off them eventually but I'm sooo skint at present (hence being o/d in first place!) could really do with getting this small amount back?
Any thoughts on the matter gratefully received!
Cheers

They sent me my statements supposedly from the last six years, but two years are missing. In the middle of one sheet of paper, it jumps from 20 Aug 2002 to 7 July 2004 (so it's not as though there could be more statements coming in another envelope). Next to those two dates it has "account renewed" with the respective balances. The missing two years correspond to the period I had the most financial problems and incurred the vast majority of my bank charges!
I was using my account regularly during that period so it's not as though it was inactive or anything.
Has anyone else experienced anything like this? I'm going to write to Halifax again and ask for details of bank charges from that period, but I was wondering if this has happened to anyone else and if so, how you got it resolved. Or even if anyone has any advice for me! (It would be much appreciated.)
Marga.
Same happened to my wife, and the 2 years that are missing are the ones that we were struggling the most what with a new baby and all, we just phoned up and they said they would send them out.0 -

You can add charges to your claim up until the court stage.0 -
Hi, Wonder if anyone can help us?
We began claiming charges to 2 Halifax accounts & had got so far as to sending both 2nd letters (LBA). The first amount is for £5431.62 & the second amount is for £1200. Both deadlines were 22nd Feb before we could begin Court Action.
However, we were going overseas on Feb 24th & so decided to leave it until we got home (early hours this morning!)
Whilst we were away we received 2 x separate letters from Halifax which are obviously standard letters offering us £4686 & £454. We have just returned from the "hole-in-the-wall" & the money has already been deposited!
Without wishing to sound greedy, we believe we should still pursue for the full amount after all it is our money!
What should our next step be?
Many many thanks xx0 -
You need to write to the bank and say you accept the offer/money in partial payment and without prejudice but are now going to proceed to court. If the figures you have give above include interest do keep in mind that any offer won't include interest.0

            Thanks for the speedy reply.
The amounts we have received are approx £400 & £500 below the totals without interest (hope this makes sense!).
Is there are standard letter to reply & could we still expect to receive amounts with interest?
Thanks again x0
