A month or two ago I wrote to Halifax asking for details of all the bank charges I've paid over the last six years. They sent me my statements supposedly from the last six years, but two years are missing. In the middle of one sheet of paper, it jumps from 20 Aug 2002 to 7 July 2004 (so it's not as though there could be more statements coming in another envelope). Next to those two dates it has "account renewed" with the respective balances. The missing two years correspond to the period I had the most financial problems and incurred the vast majority of my bank charges!

I was using my account regularly during that period so it's not as though it was inactive or anything.

Has anyone else experienced anything like this? I'm going to write to Halifax again and ask for details of bank charges from that period, but I was wondering if this has happened to anyone else and if so, how you got it resolved. Or even if anyone has any advice for me! (It would be much appreciated.)

    Marga.

Submitted claim on MCOL yesterday, have had no replies from Halifax the whole way through the procedure. The only exception was letter sent to me after the 2nd letter saying I want my money back. they send a letter stating the branch have passed details onto complaints dep and I would hear from them shortly. Well I didn't, so I then sent court action letter all sent via recorded del. Gave them 14 days still no reply. Took it that since they were so busy I would be fair and give a further 14 days. Still no reply so I then put my claim online. I doubt they will reply though so hopefully I will win by default. Fingers crossed.

Can someone please tell me roughly how long it takes for the papers to be served after the court have accepted the claim?

    Thankyou

Brilliant, well done! :) When did you start the process and did you get as far as issuing a court claim...?
