Really? How rude! Don't know why I'm surprised though, Stinging me for nearly £50 a month for being 10p overdrawn wasn't exactly friendly.

    Thanks AdamB
Only when the last tree has died and the last river has been poisoned and the last fish has been caught will we realise that we cannot eat money.
  • Hi I'm new to this.

Last year I closed my current account with Lloyds TSB due to the high charges they were issuing for going over my overdraft limit.

I am now with Barclays and would like to try to claim my charges back from Lloyds (especially as I had this account during my student and graduate years).

Is it possible to do on a closed account? And if you no longer have the bank details?

at present if a letter is received at branch then the branch will acknowledge it and then refer it on to customer relations

now there is a change - if the branch receives letter they will refer straight away so it would be up to customer relations to respond, as too many would take branch time who are dealing direct with customers
  • Hi everyone

I'm about to send my first letter to the Halifax to reclaim my bank charges. The info on the site here suggested sending this to the local branch but I was considering sending to the Trinity Road address.

Can anyone advise which is the best address - local branch or Yorkshire address?

    Thanks

if you send to branch they will refer to customer relations for you

if you send to trinity road - imagine amount of post received there, they will forward it on too, but branch maybe sure of arrival

Thanks. Is there not a way of bypassing the branch and sending to Customer Relations directly; if so what is the address?

    Taken from website:

Halifax plc, Customer Relations, PO Box 548, Leeds LS1 1WU

saying that, Leeds is a sorting office too

Hi, I have noticed that a few people have said that they have phoned the Halifax and received an offer from them before issuing court papers. What telephone number did they use?

Any phone numbers are in the Halifax thread, I'll shift your post over there in a minute.
  • Ok, I've just filed my claim online for £547, I'm so stupid I didn't realise that the interest increased daily and I didn't update the last table of charges that I sent to the bank does this matter?I'm just waiting until I can pay the court fees...which should be next week - good timing too since I'm due to go into labour on Wednesday! But I'm just wondering how much longer this is going to carry on for.........?
