    Hi
I rang the halifax on the 27 feb as the 14 days would be up on the 28th feb and was told the same thing. They told me it would not be solved untill at least the middle to end of march. Then yesterday both myself and my husband recieved calls trying to settle the matter. My husband was claiming £900 and I was claiming £1600. After 2 very easy phonecalls we eventually settled on £850 and £1500 !!!!!! Just do not agree on the goodwill gesture they offer you first as it is very low !!! They will go higher and we probably could have got the full amount but we are both very happy with the outcome !!!! Thank you all for all your help and advice !!!!
    MBNA here I come !!!!!

I don't suppose you have the telephone number for them do you as I want to chase my letter and the number i have is going straight to an answerphone??

I had a response to my first letter, within 14 days which was a standard letter advisng that they have to pass on these charges and are not able to refund them. They then kindly enclosed leaflets on complaint procedures!

Obviously letter 2 is not really the correct letter to send, what I want to do is point out that they are acting illegally.

    Anyone any suggestions?

  • I rang up the Halifax for the address to get the charges list, but they said to e-mail customer relations and they will tot up the charges and then ring to confirm amount/offer, seems a bit dodgy so they can hide full amount, has anyone else had this?

Use the templates as they work. You would need to prove they are acting illegally when in point of fact its the cost of bank charges which is unlawful.

This seems to me to be a pretty speedy way to get an offer and well worth exploring.

The address for charges list/statements is in post 1 in the Reclaim Help Thread, link in my signature.

Just to let you guys know i managed to get £3500 outta the halifax, just £250 shy of the figure i asked for, and thats probably because i never worked out the interest properly.

Its not in my account yet but i have the letter and a pending court case on them.

If anyone wants the phone number for the Customer relations office its 08457 25 35 19.

Has anyone had any success in getting anything out of Capitol One?? I did write to them asking for statements but had nothing, plus i tried GE capitol and they never got back either.

    Cheers

    Dok

I wrote to the Halifax last week and enclosed copies of all my statements with charges on highlighted. I have received a letter from them this morning, 7 days later, stating that the FSA allows them 8 weeks to investigate and respond. It states that they will however try to respond asap, but if they have not investigated in the next 4 weeks they will write back to advise of progress.

Has anyone else received this letter and what was their final outcome?

Many thanks in anticipation of response.
I got the same letter this morning.
