zerodegrees wrote:Hi,
been reading through this thread but couldnt find an answer to what im looking for, or at least there are different opinions anyway
can someone please clarify:
when writing the initial letter asking for them to repay the charges, do I send this to my local branch or the head office? and who should I mark it FAO on the envelope?
Am claiming back £794 (incl. interest),but would settle for less than that considering an actual cost is involved!
Thanks in advance
Ben
Hi, I sent my letters to my local Branch and I never marked it for anyones attention. Hope this helps. They took my signature away!!!!0 -
I sent the letter direct to the complaints office in leeds as this is where they will end up anyway. I also sent it registered post as they have a habit of losing letters."You are entitled to your own opinions but not your own facts" - Arthur Schlesinger

Hello there, I have recently accepted an offer from the Halifax for £897.00
I sent the paperwork back to them last Friday, I phoned them today to see if they had recieved the offer acceptance and they said they had. I asked them how long now until that money is paid into my account and she said she did not know.
Can somebody please advise how long does it take from them receiveing the acceptance letter to being paid into my account.
Also will my overdraft be affected, apprently the lady on the phone advised all my account benefits will remain the same is this correct???0 -

Although i have statements on online banking from Jan 2005. This would be about £650
Could i make a partial claim until my other statements come?, my account has been open since 2003, and was wondering whether to wait and make one big claim or 2 seperate ones....
This allowed?
Matt
just a quick bump on this question...does any have any advice on this?
Thanks

I made a claim with the Halifax which I split (because I was doing small claim in Scotland not MCOL). The first lot were paid fine but I'm still waiting to hear about the second lot. I've also read that if you claim twice from the same account then the chances are they will close your account.? You might be better to wait until you have a list of all your charges. They took my signature away!!!!0

Id keep it simple and wait for the lot, Ive just been offered £326 of the £356 I was claiming after just the first letter. Lets wait and see if it gets paid into the account! One more account to go, awaiting statements.Saving needed to emigrate to Oz*September 2015*

I posted my first letter to Halifax asking for £1100. I sent the letter first class recorded delivery on 22nd but I have been told by the Royal Mail(god bless em) that the letter has not been delivered and they do not know where it is.
Has anyone else had similar problems ?
