    Hi,
Did you ring them up to request a refund as its a small amount or did you send a letter? I ask as I want to claim£110, just tried ringing but was told rather abruptly no they will not refund me this money.

sent out the first template letter, recorded delivery, took a while but got the offer in the end, just sent back the signed offer sheet which says payment should be in my account within 14 days. Also taking A&L to court for £50. Im sure halifax wont take you that far (or the other way round)

    good luck
  • I'm going to be reclaiming unfair charges on 3 accounts in total (all with Halifax)

    1) Credit Card Account

    2) Current Account (closed)

    3) Current Account (closed)

my question is: Should I reclaim all the charges in one hit? or claim seperately for the credit card and one claim for the current accounts? OR make 3 seperate claims for all the accounts????!

    HELP!!

    many thanks

    Ben

  • You can claim all together but as the bank is likely to refund any successful claim into the open account this would mean and monies going into your credit card.
  • Hi, this is my first post on the site so hoping someone can advise me !! Me and my husband are both in the process of claiming fees back from the Halifax. I recieved the statements and sent the letters off requesting the charges to be re-paid. I sent these to my local branch. I recieved a letter this morning saying .......We apologise that you feel these charges are unfair ....blah blah blah and they have forwarded our letter to their customer relations team who will review the matter and contact us accordingly. My question is... has anyone else been sent a similar letter and if so where do I go from here ?? Should I give them some time before issuing my next letter or should I try ringing them ??? If I do send my next letter would it be to my local branch again or go straight to the customer relations team ?????? Any advice would be great !!! thank you !!
  • This is a standard letter from your bank. Send them off your second letter once your time scale has passed if you don't hear from them before then and if they have replied from the customer relations team send it to them.
  • Thankyou !! If i recieved the letter this morning what would you say is a fair time scale to wait before sending the next letter ???
  • When is the 14 days that you gave them to reply up? Thats the dates you need to go by but have a read back through this thread and see how long Halifax are taking to come back to people.
