  • O.M.G am really starting to panic now. have also paid £120 and started court proceedings through mco. so far i have heard nothing and halifax have until 10th Feb(which happens to be my birthday) to respond. am hoping and praying that i wont have to go to court!!!!
Halifax refused to pay me anything, so I paid the £120 for the court

just read a post to say the halifax actually went to court

    do they actually do this????

just worried now as they wont be sending a 2 bob lawyer, and I wont be able to afford to pay their costs

    Do not panic!

Halifax have not taken one single case to a hearing to defend their charges. James is mistaken by thinking he read this somewhere.

  • Halifax just called, offered me the full amount :) well happy. thanks everyone! :money:
  • Just off the phone to the call centre to chase up bank statments that have gone missing in the post twice (yeah right).
The ca advised that if the statements are being ordered in order to claim bank charges, I could write a letter to customer care dept and they would solve the matter asap.

If anyone is interested the address to write to is:

    fao customer care
    Nexus
    po box 548
    Leeds LS1 1NU

wonder if this is another delaying tactic or maybe a department dedicated to the bank charges?

  • I contacted Halifax and they sent me six years of bank statements and also returned my £10 postal order as 'a sign of good will'!!!

I wrote to them asking for £4223.20 including interest but they did not reply.

I wrote to them again following the advice given on this excellent site and the immediately wrote back to say it has been passed to their customer complaints department. They told me i should receive a reply around 5th March, in 4 weeks time.

    Are they stalling on me?

Is there anything else i can do?

    Thanks guys.

Yes they are. If they have not responded / settled with you in your timetable. Take the next step advised on here... i.e. court. Quite a lot of people have to do this. Look at the success stories and Martin's guide. Keep pushing... it's your money!

  • No idea what to do, am hoping one of the fine people on here has advice to offer.
stick to your guns. if they dont get in touch with you once your 7 days is up. then take em to court. many people have to do this. see rex_mundis post yesterday about this. provided you have done everything correctly, you will almost certainly get all your money back plus interest.
