Two things
1. Check here http://pensions-service.direct.gov.uk/en/cold-weather-payment/home.asp
2. Are you on ESA C or ESA IR?0 -
I'm on ESA IR main phase and three cold weather payments have been issued0
-
Then you will have to phone your BC and ask for a callback to confirm payment will be made.
They are paid seperately at £25 each0 -
Hello i have a question about CWP me and my ex wife have an 8 month old girl and we half all the child benefits a month as to make it fair as we have our little girl 50/50
does anyone know where the letters go? shes on income support and im on JSA
or will i need to phone them?
she claims child benefits and i claim tax credit.. so does one person need to claim both to get the CWP?
The Department for Work and Pensions has been notified that there have been 2 periods of very cold weather in the ** postcode area between 1 November 2012 and the current date 08 February 2013.

CWP are based on the JSA(IB) & the IS so you both should get the CWP & the letters.
But there is a confusion with your post. Does she have any other children under 5 living with her? Because she would need to get child benefit in order to get Income Support. It is also my understanding you cannot claim Child Tax Credits without claiming Child Benefit so that doesn't make sense either.
Unless you mean that she claims both the Child Benefit and the Child tax credits but gives you the child benefit money.
In which case, to be 100% legal you should inform JSA that you are receiving "other money" from someone else. Which could, under the circumstances, cause you some problems on JSA.0 -
Oh sorry my mistake i meant she gets Child Benefit and i get tax credits
You can claim tax credit without the same person claiming Child benefits
As when we filled in the paperwork and spoke to someone we got told we could do this.
we just half it whoever has the child that week i.e give the person the money via BT
Would it be best to call CWP as post code checker says we should of got 2 payments but none of us have heard nothing0 -
Fair enough,
You need to phone your JSA and her IS to chase the CWP0 -
Many thanks for your help,we will contact the CWP
Thank you0
