Hi, I'm sorry if I'm repeating questions already asked by others but I'm a little confused. We have always been eligible for cold weather payments in the past when we were receiving Income Support. We are now receiving ESA at the appeal rate pending a tribunal and my husband receives DLA at the lower rate. We should be entitled to 2 cold weather payments in our area but have received nothing. I've looked at the eligibility page and from reading it looks like we aren't eligible anymore. We don't have a child under 5, aren't pensioners and have no disabled children. Has the criteria changed since last year or should we still be entitled??? Thank you in advance.
you dont get cwp in the appeal stage of esa only the main if you win your appeal then you will get any cwps back dated then

    i noticed my 1st trigger = 14th Jan'
    got 1st CWP = 23rd [payment for 12th-18th Jan']
got DWP letter about 1st CWP trigger = 25th [the letter was sent on the 18th!]

    i noticed my 2nd trigger = 21st Jan'
[that must be for the period of 19th-25th Jan']
    got 2nd CWP = 30th Jan'
so i'm guessing i'll get the DWP letter about the 2nd CWP trigger was written/sent to me on the 25th Jan'...so i could get that letter between now and the 1st of Feb'.

    i've checked and there's no 3rd trigger for PE2.
i'm guessing that's because this area might have been cold enough for 2 or 3 nights, but it's been warmer since then.

Do you receive any of the qualifying benefits and then also fall under the qualifying rules? For example, if you are on Income Support do you have a child under 5 or get a disability premium?
  • We are claiming jsa as a couple....and have a 7month old baby.

i thought claiming jsa and having a child i would still receive it .

It will be if they are claiming as a couple.

The poster will have to phone the DWP and tell them they haven't had a CWP.
