  • I would check your account tomorrow as seems to be a Tuesday or Wednesday that they pay them after the weekend scan.

I cant work out if I would be entitled to cold weather payments. I am in receipt of ESA ( in the assessment period)and the lower rate of DLA.
I received a xmas bonus and I'm assuming that this is because I am in reciept of DLA.
Do you only get the cold weather payment if you are on the higher rate of DLA?

My first payment, in December, was paid into my bank on a Wednesday, 1 week and 2 days after the trigger.

Sorry I meant to add...I anticipate my second one tomorrow, again 1 week and 2 days after the trigger and the third next Wednesday. It seems to follow this pattern in my experience.

Have just had my first payment today (Wednesday). It's taken roughly 2 weeks.

Does the postcode checker site only update on Mondays? Or will it update 7 day triggers throughout the week?

It updates - or at least used to update - daily as notifications from the Met Office weather stations are received. However many (if not all) payments triggered for both last week and this week have been based on forecasts (rather than actual data from a previous 7 day period) made by the Met Office of a period of 7 days of average temperatures likely to be at or below 0c so most triggers have been on consecutive Mondays.

Back in December 2010 and January 2011 there were updates every day for almost two months due to the prolonged severe weather. This time around it seems to be more co-ordinated, probably due to the fact that the severe cold spell has been more restricted to the past two weeks in most parts of the UK (other than parts of Scotland and parts of Cumbria which have had more triggers over the winter as a whole).
