I received a xmas bonus and I'm assuming that this is because I am in reciept of DLA.
Do you only get the cold weather payment if you are on the higher rate of DLA?
I would suggest that you go into the direct gov website and print off the dates of the cold weather triggers in your area as your proof of what happened.
Then when you (hopefully your get the ESA), they backdate the £28 (or whatever it is) to the date that the assesment rate started at, - then you ring your local benefits delievery centre explain to them and say you have proof - they will eventually pay you.
(As I said I was in your posititon last yr we had 3 triggers in our area, but my local centre only paid me 1 set of payments as I had no proof of the dates, my esa didn't get sorted till June so by then the website page had closed down - hense my fuss pot mode) xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
It appears to take 9(ish) days here, much the same as last year. Triggered on the 14th, in the bank todayPrincess Sparklepants0

Hi using the postcode checker I see we have had 2 periods of cold weather raising payments for the LN4 area, today I got a letter saying I'm getting a payment from Jan 14th to 20th Jan the letter was dated 18th Jan, seems odd it was posted before the 20th. I'm sure before we could find out what dates on the internet the cold periods that issue a payment are, does anyone know how we can find out as I havent had a letter before this date and I'm wondering what the other date was. Thanks in advance.
My payment went in yesterday, very fast!!0 -

Got my first payment into my bank account today, exactly 2 weeks after it was triggered. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -
Hi, I'm sorry if I'm repeating questions already asked by others but I'm a little confused. We have always been eligible for cold weather payments in the past when we were receiving Income Support. We are now receiving ESA at the appeal rate pending a tribunal and my husband receives DLA at the lower rate. We should be entitled to 2 cold weather payments in our area but have received nothing. I've looked at the eligibility page and from reading it looks like we aren't eligible anymore. We don't have a child under 5, aren't pensioners and have no disabled children. Has the criteria changed since last year or should we still be entitled??? Thank you in advance.0
