After work snack was a Ryvita (rest of HEB) with a light cheese triangle (part HEA as I haven't had much tea today) and some thin cucumber slices.

I've just had a huge stir fry for dinner - strips of steak, onion, green pepper, celery, mange tout and chilli with some boiled rice. 3 syns for the sauce I used, taking me to 4.5 for the day.

Very full now....must go and do the washing up.

Well Im back with my days food,

I had a change of plan today from EE to green. Two reasons.

    1. I was a little short on fruit....and todays physio meant no time to go to Asda (didnt want to go after as Its normally a bit of a pukey time for me at physio as you oldies know :o)

    2. Fridays Endoscopy - or rather the days of stupid eating habits that followed have resulted in me needing the urgent services of Drainage consultants for serious blockage problems again :o..... So Ive had to call in the big guns and whacked a mahooosive pan of Dyno Rod on the cooker...... WE WILL SEE MOVEMENT!!!!!!!

So basically my days food has gone like this

    Breakfast beans & scrambled egg

    Lunch Dyno Rod

    Tea Dyno Rod

    Supper.....Dyno Rod

OH says hes going to sleep at his mums as the spare room is not far enough away :o:D

HEB 1 oaty bar 1 fibre plus
    HEA milk for teas

ooooh nearly forgot 2 syn butter in my egg, might have a skinny latte 3.5 (need to use these up...Im not really into coffee thqat much)& a penguin wafer 4.5

Skint slimmer angel out, I'll now adopt my halloween devil horns and ask consultant if the point of that Mrs sogood poem was to make us realise that Christmas day is all about coming off the bandwaggon in really good style, cos if half-heartedness results in a couple of hundred syns, we might as well do it good and propper and feel like we've had fun, yes? a025.gif

Weeeell, I have to be honest here and admit that I eat more or less what I want on Christmas day and Boxing day, but I do still cook the SW way. Roasties are done in Frylight cos we like them that way, I don't add butter to mashed potato and I don't slather butter on the veggies (ever).

I hate Christmas pud and Christmas cake so there's no temptation there. We tend to have some sort of luscious ice cream dessert which is lighter than a C/pud and leaves me feeling less bloated and one glass of white wine is about all I have or we wouldn't get any food at all. I'm a lightweight where it comes to alcohol, two winegums and a glass of water and I'm anybody's :rotfl::rotfl:

We always used to have a menu sent out from Head Office at Christmas - no doubt some of you have seen it. It showed how Christmas day could be 'enjoyed' within your 15 syns and I used to think "blimey, that's not Christmassy at all".

There are those who will stick to plan and lose weight over the holidays, and there are those that will go completely mad and put on ½ stone......but there is a middle ground which lets you enjoy your time with family and friends (still managing your food intake) and maybe stay the same or even put on a pound or two which, if you get back to normal straight after Boxing day, will soon come off again.

The main thing to remember is that Christmas lasts for 2 days not 2 weeks and if you stick to 2 days, the damage (if there's any at all) will be limited ;)
I let my mind wander and it never came back!

Just back from WI - STS :( and I had been very good all week though it is *week so maybe that's what caused it but very hard to feel motivated when I know I gave last week a good shot! Trying to keep the chocolate and red wine out of reach!

Don't panic, this will almost certainly be due to * week - your body can retain up to 4lbs of extra fluid. Stick to plan and just think how fantasic the loss will be next week :T

  • I have loads and loads of cooking apples from the tree in the garden. Does anyone have any SW ideas for using them? I know i'll have to syn them if I cook them and am going to try and resist making apple crumble and pie shaped goodies...
    HF x

what I did with my excess blackberries and apples was make a load of crumbles for other people, but I made sure I used sweetener in the fruit rather than real sugar. Then with a helping of left-over stewed fruit I made a meringue-topped pie. Make the meringue in the usual way but fold in sweetener instead of real sugar. Cook it quite slowly if you want a crispy meringue - it is GORGEOUS and you only have to syn the stewed fruit, which isn't many syns.

    thank you Slimming World!
  • Hope this one fits the bill:-

    Red pepper soup
    (From Slimming World magazine)

    6 red peppers
    12 plum tomatoes
    4 garlic cloves
    2 tbsp soy sauce
salt and freshly ground black pepper
a little pared orange rind and freshly chopped coriander to garnish.

Preheat the oven to 200C/400F/Gas 6. Halve and deseed the peppers, place on a baking tray and roast for 10 minutes. Halve the tomatoes, add to the baking tray with the garlic and roast for a further 40 minutes. Remove the skin from the peppers and place in a food processor with the tomatoes, 1/4pt/284ml water, soy sauce and seasoning to taste. Pop open the garlic cloves by squeezing and add the puree to the food processor. Blend until smooth then place in a pan, warm the soup through and serve garnished with orange rind and coriander.

Syn free on Original and Green

Ooh thank you. I don't have a food processor at moment but am hopefully getting one this week as my blender just broke and it's only 2months old. So will take it back and get a processor/blender instead as I could do with one.

My veggie roast dinner was amazing!! so yummy, the gravy was perfect too :)

Wooooohooo I thought it was just me! I don't like Christmas pud/cake/turkey/carrots/bread sauce (never tried it actually)/mince pies - what a grumbly old stooge I am. My fave Xmas lunches have been when I've got the Indian restaurant chaps to get their mum or wife to cook me an authentic dish, then I freeze it until Christmas day. Obviously can't do that this SW year, so it might be some skinned duck or something. :p

Hey there Dizzy, I'm glad to see you back on form, we've missed you on the thread :)

I'm a little miffed at being refered to as an 'oldie' in your opening paragraph, but since you're all bunged up, I'll forgive you (or you may just come round our house if hubby throws you out, lol).

f the Dynorod soup doesn't work, I can recommend sweetcorn. I love it but it makes me hard to live with :o
