Are Mangetout/Sugar Snap Peas superfree on EE? Looking at the website I think they might be, but not 100% convinced given peas are not...
Thanks0 -
Just back from WI - STS
and I had been very good all week though it is *week so maybe that's what caused it but very hard to feel motivated when I know I gave last week a good shot! Trying to keep the chocolate and red wine out of reach! A diet is the penalty we pay for exceeding the feed limit!:rotfl:
Joined SW 13/9/10 - wanted to lose 56lb and lost 26lb! Rejoined on 9/1/12 having gained 17lb of my loss!!!
Want to lose 50lb. 50 - 8.5 = 41.5 to go!0 -

Big (hugs) - star week has a lot to answer for!:( I've been where you are and it is so soul destroying when you've been good and it doesn't show up at the scales. I bet tho if you continue to be good it might show up next week after your star week!0 -

I've just tried to look them up on the SW website and it doesn't recognise the lollies. We have a packet of mixed sweets with the drumsticks in them and it gives the values per 100g; so on that basis have put them thru the syn calculator and they are coming up at 10.5 syns each! I'm so glad that altho I like them; I don't fancy the possible dentist bill that might come out of eating them!:)0 -
Good evening all
Aliscrapper -I have never seen any balsamics have syns - only the balsamic dressings... I get through loads of the stuff:D
I realised earlier with the talk of 40th birthdays thats I WILL be 40 next year too ... not until December though -so I WILL NOT be fat n 40 -ooh no sir not me :rotfl: - I swear I only feel 22
Righty-ho ..here is the recipe I tried yesterday just in case anyone wants it:-
Now then I did mine in the remoska but I will give the oven version and then add the remoska version for anyone who has one
BRAISED LAMB SHANK RECIPE
SERVES 4
3 syns per serving on Red/EE
- 4 lamb shanks -I used 2 as there is no way we can eat a whole one each

- 2 red onions -thinly sliced
- 2 cloves garlic -crushed/grated
- 100ml balsamic vinegar (now I liked the full amount but it might be a bit much for some -so you can always start off with less and add more if you like it ..)
- 300ml red wine (11)
- 2tbs tomato puree (1)
- sprig rosemary -I used 1 tsp of dried
- 150ml hot water
- 2 oxo cubes -I used lamb
- seasoning
- pre-heat oven to 150c/130fan/gas2
- heat a large casserole on the stove and drop in the lamb shanks to colour.
- remove the shanks onto a plate
- drop the onions into the pan and cook for a couple of minutes
- add in the tomato puree, garlic, stock cubes and rosemary and sit over the heat for a couple of minutes
- add the balsamic and wine and bring to the boil, add in the water
- drop the lamb shanks, cover and cook for approx 2.5hrs until the meat is tender
- remove the lamb from the pan and keep covered and warm
- place the casserole on the stove and boil the sauce down to the consistancy you like and season to taste
- serve...

Ok -so a quick remoska version....- drop the shanks in the remoska and switch on -cook for about 30mins until coloured
- take them out and add in the onions and cook down for about 10 mins
- stir in the puree, garlic, stock cube and rosemary -cover with foil and cook for about 20mins
- pour in the wine and balsamic (no need for the 150ml water)
- add the shanks back in -cover with foil and cook until tender

Right -I hope that is of use to someone... give me a yell if you need any help... oohh and be warned it is rather rich
-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 - 4 lamb shanks -I used 2 as there is no way we can eat a whole one each

I too must aquire a' lakeland fat magnet' I love all their gadgets, nearest store is Cambridge so usually make a trip out of it with a friend and they have just sent me a £5 voucher so now I will have to go and buy something
I looked it up - seems terribly expensive, £9.99+ P&P when surely a tupperware with ice frozen inside would do the same job? or a plastic bag containing ice?
I have overdone Dyno soup today
My house is smelling rather fragrant :rotfl: Nothing tastes as good as riding a horse feels0 -

Thanks
Yes, all those types of peas in their pods are free on all plans (and speed foods too, IIRC). The shelled ones have a higher overall sugar/carby content, hence why they are only free on green

x
Hope this one fits the bill:-
Red pepper soup
(From Slimming World magazine)
6 red peppers
12 plum tomatoes
4 garlic cloves
2 tbsp soy sauce
salt and freshly ground black pepper
a little pared orange rind and freshly chopped coriander to garnish.
Preheat the oven to 200C/400F/Gas 6. Halve and deseed the peppers, place on a baking tray and roast for 10 minutes. Halve the tomatoes, add to the baking tray with the garlic and roast for a further 40 minutes. Remove the skin from the peppers and place in a food processor with the tomatoes, 1/4pt/284ml water, soy sauce and seasoning to taste. Pop open the garlic cloves by squeezing and add the puree to the food processor. Blend until smooth then place in a pan, warm the soup through and serve garnished with orange rind and coriander.
Syn free on Original and GreenI let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
Quick question, sort of thinking ahead to Christmas: I noticed in my book that there are syns in Bubble & Squeak. Why would that be? I assumed LO veg and frylight would be syn free. Any ideas?
I see no reason why there should be syns if you make it yourself with no butter or anything, so enjoy
