slimming world has a chart of minimum acceptable target weights and you have to have 7lbs to lose to get to this weight or you can't join. (this is in the choose success book given when you join)

so somone of 5 foot 5 the minimum acceptable weight target is 8st 8lbs, so to join you need to be 8st 15lbs. i think that the lowest acceptable target gives you a bmi of 20.

i only joined a couple of weeks ago, my book definetely say the lowest acceptable target weight of someone 5 foot 5 is 8 stone 8lbs.
I agree the lowest acceptable weights are very low, at 4 foot 10 mine would be 6 stone 11 lbs. Well i haven't been that since i was born i don't think:rotfl:

Clandestine - this is what mine said. No mention of specific BMI so I checked it on the NHS website.... 22.7

Fantastic! Your BMI indicates you are an extremely healthy weight for your height.
You are at the least risk of developing weight-related health problems. Further weight loss is unnecessary and possibly inadvisable. If you do have concerns about your weight, we recommend that you discuss them with your GP. We've included your diet profile answers below for your reference.

Although we are unable to offer you membership of bodyOptimise, we hope you continue to enjoy our inspirational features and healthy, delicious recipes.

Ideally I wanted to join a class so that I could get weighed in public/ get some sociable support but you know what, having chatted to you guys I think I will just start here and see how I go. The support on here seems great! I know I'm lucky to only have a tiny loss to make (and sorry if I'm irritating those of you with much more to lose) but I just want to get my eating under control before I create a bigger problem

I will decree weigh ins to be on Thurs am and start from tomorrow.

Well if you do change your mind and want to go to class....I think MRSMs idea of filling your pockets was fab :T:T :rotfl:

were all here to help you if you get stuck with anything ;)

Just for info - according to the SW website:
A BMI of between 20 & 25 is considered within the healthy range:
You are at least risk of developing weight-related medical problems. Your health may not necessarily benefit from further weight loss. It is important not to aim to go below this range.
A diet is the penalty we pay for exceeding the feed limit!:rotfl:
Joined SW 13/9/10 - wanted to lose 56lb and lost 26lb! Rejoined on 9/1/12 having gained 17lb of my loss!!! :(
    Want to lose 50lb. 50 - 8.5 = 41.5 to go!

Thanks Vicki :) I`d like to be anywhere between 9 stone`ish` and 9 1/2 stone. At the moment I`m 11 stone and although people say I look ok, I feel bloated and sluggish and NEED to lose my belly :eek:
