Good evening all
Well done on the great losses folks :j
Dizzy -thats the plan then -if they won't let me be a consultant we will sit in their reception and "smell them out"- I won't have to travel far as they are based in Alfreton -which is dangerously close to where I will be going back to live
-Im in Nottinghamshire and often drive through Alfreton when we are galavanting ...
Redmel -the pork is scrummy isn't it mmmm :j
Well hubbies medication has given him a dodgy tummy all day -so I have only had to feed myself.... here is the pasta dish I did in case its of use to anyone -it was going to be a carbonara -but I couldn't be bothered to open the bacon for 1 -plus it saved me 2 syns -so I made it up as I went along...anyhoo -here goes:-
creamy parmesan pasta
served 1
3syns and 1/2 heA on Green/EE
- 1 onion -finely chopped
- mushrooms -thickly sliced
- 1 clove garlic- grated
- 14g fresh grated parmesan (1/2 A)
- 1 egg
- 2tbs Single cream (3)
- plenty of seasoning
- 50g dry spaghetti
- peas
- sweetcorn
- put the pasta on to cook -add the peas/corn for the last 5 mins
- drop the mushrooms in a dry frying pan and cook for a couple of minutes (you can always spray oil them if you use it)
- add the onion and garlic and cook gently so the garlic doesn't burn
- mix the egg, cream, parmesan and lots of seasoning together
- drain the pasta well and place back in the hot pan
- throw in the mushrooms and egg mix and stir (off the heat) - until everything is coated...
If you are having an EE day you could always cook some bacon off first then add the mushrooms etc, and Im going to try it again one day and add either ham or prawns nomnomnom
right I will get off to bed -sleep well all ,,,,

I make rice pudding with my pudding rice/soya milk/vanilla essence - make it in a big pyrex dish then it lasts me a couple of days.
So is that baked in the oven like an old-fashioned rice pudding alisont? Do you sweeten it or rely on fruit with it?blackberry-rum wrote: »Clandestine, I think we've agreed that all SW recipes have waaaaaaay too much liquid in 'em. Whoever invents them likes really really WET food
I'll second that! What I find frustrating is that before SW I'd just stir in a bit of cornflour but that rather defeats the point!
Back from few days in France. VERY difficult to keep to the plan. What really brought it home to me is that French markets are full of beautiful superfree vegetables but restaurants serve very few indeed. I ordered a lot of green side salads, ate no bread at all and generally did my best. Plus I'm having to go to an evening WI tomorrow. I'm expecting bad news:(.0 -
Yes I think all the recipes, are too 'wet'! I am normally rubbish at following recipes exactly, so why i didn't just go with my instinct on this one I have no idea...
I am going to look up a few 'normal' recipes and adapt for sw, as well as trying out the sw specific ones...Hopefully I can find a few new dishes to have....but Yes Mrs M, that pork is sooo nice. Your pasta one seems quite good too, I might give it a whirl at some point:)
ETA - Food doesn't count if it is eaten in the middle of the night whilst up feeding the baby, does it;)

Nothing is going to get better. It's not.0 -

It's the old fashioned version - takes up to 2 hrs at 150 to cook, I don't sweeten it but usually add some agarve syrup to my evening comfort food serving and syn that as can't stand artificial sweetner, if for breakfast raspberries and bluberries are fab:) I use soya milk unsweet one as part of my HEA and water in it.Sealed Pot Challenge number 8 Amount declared £365.50.

Morning all. WI tonight and I'm really looking forward to it although hoping I'm not disappointed after being soooo good! I've a busy day ahead...I'm at work till 3pm then I have a riding lesson, followed by a visit to Mr Morrisons, then home to unpack the shopping and have a bath and hair wash before WI then home to cook tea for when OH gets home at 9pm! I'll be shattered by then!!
Going Green again today:
Brekkie - banana, rice, yogurt, mixed berries
Lunch - 'Cow Pat' fish cakes!!, leftover pasta with vegetably, tomatoey sauce, small banana
Tea - not sure, will see what looks good in the supermarket.
Snacks - lots of fruit.0 -
Just get some pudding rice.
Boil it up in water (the same as you would normal rice) until the water has gone.I use 50g for a decent size serving.
Then stir in a muller (or any other yog of your choice) Im using the vanilla choc sprinkle and I swear it tastes like ambrosia rice pud! then just serve with whatever fruit you want....chopped nana or some berries. Its truly lush and soooo filling now the weather has turned all yacky:D free on green & EE
You can cook twice the amount and keep some in the fridge for the next day to save time.......but dont try reheating it like I did - i got a nasty food poisoning attack from lukewarm nuked rice lol
Ooh cheers for that, that sounds lush! And I've just run out of my usual weetabix so I had to have a double potion of museli this morning (28g museli really is pitiful isn't it!). I have a bit of sushi rice so I think I will experiment this evening and try and make breakfast rice with it.0 -
Morning all
Just off to have a swim and another go on the Flabuloss machine (wobble board).
This will be 6 goes and just wondering if anyone else has had a try at this and what you thought about it. I can't say that I can see any difference yet but I will persevere.
My WI tonight but I might not get on as I'm 1lb over target (well 4 over in total) but I'm off on holiday tomorrow for a week so wont be able to WI next Wednesday so will get charged. Trouble is I didn't get on last week either. What would you suggest?
Have a good day everyone xx0 -
