Gillian McKeith would be proud of all our poo talk in here.

I drink Feiyan tea when I'm blocked. Its a chinese weight loss tea and contains green tea. A chinese lady at work recommended it to me and it certainly does the job, think that's why they market it as a weight loss tea as it makes you feel a lot lighter after! Make sure that you are near a loo in 6-8hrs after drinking it though. I will have it at night so I'm all set to go in the morning.

Is the Feiyan tea available at the supermarket?? Thanks.
  • I had my weigh in on Thursday and I've lost 2.5lb - woot!

My consultant said I should try for a body magic award so I am going to go for the gold award.

Day 3 and I'm still aghast at how much food I'm eating! How can this work?

I have also been sleeping much better these past couple of nights, which if a by-product, is marvellous. I'm not on the loo so much today either, which is a good thing, because I'd have had to invest in shares with Andrex at this rate.

    Meal plan today is:

    B - Muller + porridge + strawberries
    L - eggs, bacon, mushrooms & beans
D - Spaghetti bolognese (with wholewheat pasta) with side salad
    Snacks - banana

    HEA - 250ml milk

Presuming that I'm doing EE, do I have to count any syns for my bolognese? I'll be using the SW recipe, although I have a larger pack of lean mince than the 340g mentioned in the recipe. I have invested in a new Tefal frying pan which means I can fry without frylight. I checked the recipe online, and am wondering if I have to count the pasta as a HEB, but I've already had my porridge today, so do I count one of them as a syn instead?

I've treated my 2 youngest boys to a SW olympic breakfast for lunch today, and they loved it. I gave them the same as me, but my 12 y/o doesn't like beans, but loves spaghetti rings, so he had those instead. They've had no bread, and didn't even notice it was missing. Both have had a piece of fruit afterwards. I'm still so stuffed that I'm going to have to have my piece of fruit for an afternoon snack.

This evening is a bonfire night party at a friend's house. I'm going to have a bowl of the h/m soup I did last night before I go for my tea (which has parsnip, swede, carrots, leek, celery, onion & veg. boullion in it), and give the children a light tea too, as I know there will be snacks and treats there. I've made a ginger sponge, and some brownies as my contribution, but I've already cut them into portions (smaller than usual) so that they aren't over-indulgent, and go further. I can resist them, but know the children won't be able to.

I'm so proud of my 12 y/o. He clearly read more of the SW mag than I realised, and decided to choose a healthy bacon/egg on multi-grain roll for his lunch, as opposed to his usual cheese & tomato pizza slice at school yesterday. If he can keep making those wise choices when he's away from me he's going to do fine.

I'm actually counting down the days until I can join SW proper now - 2 more sleeps to go! I must be going a bit mad in my old age, surely?

You can get it from chinese herbalists, do you have a herbal king or anything like that where you live? It is available online but I'd be wary about ordering it on ebay unless it has good feedback, same for general online as lot of people will fake it.

if you get it from a herbalist they will always try and sell you the big box, there are two smaller boxes in there so ask for a small box. xx

Vixie I hope you feel better soon. I hate that shaky feeling, and find mine can be triggered by having eaten too many carbs, then I get a carb come-down, get shaky, need to eat more carbs/sugar to make me feel better, but it creates a vicious cycle. My BF had one this morning, although he'd only had his usual b/fast of weetabix, but by 11am was all shaky, and needed to eat something. He had some h/m fruitloaf I made this week, which should be better for him, as it's like a Soreen loaf, full of fruit and I accidentally made it with gluten/wheat-free flour, but it still would have been a sugar fix for him.

If it keeps happening it might be worthwhile getting a blood test done at your GP though, just to rule out anything else. It's your insulin levels dipping that cause the shakes, and it usually happens after eating something like carbs or sugar (or foods easy converted in the body to sugar, like bananas or cereals). The recommendation, having had a look online, is to keep your diet full of regular protein meals, along with natural carbs found in veg/fruit. Avoid creating sugar high's, which you'll then just crash from, and then get the shakes. Can you look back at what you've been eating to see if it's been particularly high in carbs, low in protein? If it's not that, then I wonder if tiredness could be an issue?

Either way, I hope you feel much better soon, and try not to let it sabotage your fantastic loss so far.

I'm not but I suffer from Hypoglycaemia - i have polycystic ovary syndrome which means i suffer with hyperinsulinaemia (summat like that!) which causes me to produce more insulin.

I am off to the Drs Monday to demand a blood test!! Its funny as when i was 5 stone heavier i never suffered with it (probably coz my blood sugar was higher due to the crap i was eating) I was this weight when i was diagnosed which was at the time i was suffering badly!! Looks like my body is on a rewind! :rotfl:

In the summer i mainly had red days - but now its colder i want meals that are more satisfying and carb laden! So i have eaten much more pasta, rice and potatoes (i dont eat bread due to yeast intolerance) I have still been eating meat (chicken, pork and beef mainly) I have incorporated syns into my mealplan but i'm not an oil or butter person so my syns tend to be on sauces, dips, crisps, chocolate.. sugary things :o The last 2 weeks i have had the syns i've allocated myself but then again i have had 2 green days a week 3 EE days and 2 red days... where before i had 4 red days, 1 green, 2 EE each week on average... I think i will incorporate more red days next week and see if that makes a difference...

Thanks for your perspectives Dalia and Sary... they are very much appreciated :)
