My new year's resolution is to join SW
so hopefully i'll be visiting this thread a lot more come new year, just thought i'd pop in and say hello
I've got a lot of weight to lose but have heard so many positive stories about SW so i've been inspired to join and hopefully lose some of this weight. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Welcome to all the new people, and those who have been lurking but are now coming out of the woodwork!
i'm still waiting for Owl to post though, they are always kind enough to thank my posts so it'd be nice to hear their story too
We'll need a new thread for the new year soon. Anyone got any idea if Consultant31 is gone for good or if she'll be back? I'm happy to make the new post etc, but don't want to steal her job - she's so good at itNothing tastes as good as riding a horse feels0 -
Welcome xxmessedupxx. I joined SW in November, and have found it really easy to get to grips with, and the weight does just seem to fall off, without you really having to try very hard. Just count all your treats (syns), and make sure you have plenty of fruit & veg in your diet.
Well I went to WI today with little Sary, and I've gained 1.5lb, and he lost 1lb. My BF said that didn't seem fair because I've not really seemed to eat a great deal more, and my son has eaten a fair few sweets and chocs, but that's the way it goes. It is also my impending * week, so it could be partly to do with that. I've had some lovely treats for the past 3 days, and have been mainly back on plan today.
Food Today : EE
B - banana (it was a v.late, less than an hour before lunch)
L - bacon, eggs, mushrooms, tomato, beans, Activia snackpot (0.5 syns)
snack - HiFi (mince pie flavour, so I felt I was still in the Christmas spirit)
D - turkey, 2 roast potatoes (1 syns for olive oil), stuffing (3 syns), gravy (1 syn), peas, carrots, brocolli, sweetcorn.
Pudding- Christmas pudding with cream.... I'll guess at about 20 syns
So that puts me on about 25.5 syns for today, so I'm calling it a flexi-syn day! Will definitely claw some of those back over the next few days, but it was good to get back into the swing of things again today, and although I did hanker after some choccies today, my OH has put them all away now and said what's left will wait until next Christmas now.
The turkey carcass has been in the slowcooker most of the day, and I'll strain that off tomorrow and make a tasty soup. Eldest has already spied that taking place, and asked when the soup will be available.... he's got a real taste for it now.
I have a very good friend coming for the day tomorrow, who has had several weightloss journeys over the years (including a successful SW one), who has been having a battle once again with her's, and I'd like to encourage her to do SW once again. She was looking into using hypnotherapy to combat her issues with over-eating, but tbh I think she's looking for a miracle cure, rather than taking control of her tendency to binge, but it will be good to share my positive feelings with her, and hope she can feel interested too.One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing
Be nice to your children, they'll choose your care home0 -
Hello Skintslimmer
What did you want me for? I am half on, half off the wagon at the mo, and am getting back on on 5th January, gluing my @rse down tight and not budging until it is 2 stones lighter........ But thus time, doing it alone as can't really afford classes... Mum coming along for ride and of course, all you lovely ladies on here.......... So, forgive me for "lurking" but I read most days, keeps motivation alive even if I am not on wagon. Will post daily once on permanently

I'm still hereHope everyone has enjoyed their Christmas and that most of the calorie-filled stuff has gone.........out of sight and hopefully out of mind
The whole family comes to us for Christmas so it's been really busy and I've not had chance to fire up the 'puter at all over the last few days so I've missed loads on here, have we heard from Dizzy at all? When is she due back?
I'll start a new thread for the New Year if you like, probably over the weekend. I'm sure we'll get dozens of new posters after the 1st or 2nd of January.
Will pootle back through some of the missed posts but please forgive me if I miss any aimed my way. I'll be back full time as soon as the last of the visitors has gone and we're all back to normal, but if I don't get back before Saturday, Happy New Year to one and allI let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
