Slimming World - a Christmas countdown!

hi all
who is doing which plan and what do they think provides the best loses and what volume of food, do people veat freely on the plan.
I give up doing slimming world due to the fact that I was not losing some of it down to me.
I have rejoined WW and have losed about 10/12 lb in weight but it is difficult to get to class, where as SW is easier and had an agreement that I could go every other week.
On doing the new WW propoints plan I weighed everything and counted everything used all my points and activity points and went over but have lost slowly, the first few weeks were hell as I ended up eating at least 50% than before, and still eat less, So I am considering rejoining SW so that I can go to class regulary.
In my class in Cornwall, extra easy is not favored by the old members, but there is a newish consultant wo loves EE and lost her weight on it and new members love it.
Are there any other SW members in Cornwall
maz
I have been going to SW for more than 3 years now and prefer red and green days over extra easy. Red/Green was how SW was explained to me and I like the structure of my 2 HEA and my 2 HEB. I try to do extra easy occasionally but fall foul of adding the superfree - so I'll have my sw curry (free on red) and my rice (free on green) but that will be it i.e. no extra veg.
In answer to your first question - I think variety is the key. its important to vary what you eat and I think to have your syns also. I have never done ww so can't comment. Why not pick up the latest issue of SW mag and follow the weekly plan and see how you get on?0 -
Good afternoon all.. be it a little late
Hello to the newbies :hello:..
Well "whoop whoop" I got out for a walk earlier -1hr15mins of trudging through the snow..it was lovely and really blew the cobwebs away :j.... Im feeling a bit better -still a bit like my head is full of itching powder, but I should be rid of it soon,,,, and hubby is going to warn the germ ridden flea bag that gave it him in the first place that his wifey will take 2 bricks to his nether regions if he does it again
Well Im having a red day -again..and it looks like this:-- 250ml semi (A)
- 1 apple
- leftover roast chicken
- leeks
- spring onions
- 28g peas (1)
- 28g corn (1.5)
- 42g low fat cheddar (A)
- sf jelly and berries (0.5)
- 1/2 activia (1.25)
- salmon fillet
- asparagus
- carrots
- cabbage
- 250ml semi (6)
- fibre plus bar (B)
- sf jelly n berries (0.5)
- 1/2 activia (1.25)
- fruit allowance:-
- 2 apples
- 4 clementines
Lunch was gorgeous -I was going to go green and do my easy cheesy pasta -but as I fancied salmon tonight I swapped the pasta for the leftover roast chicken,,, so I just zapped the leek/spring onions in the micro -threw in the peas corn and chicken and zapped -drained and then crumbled in the cheese and some seasoning and let stand for a few mins whilst I tidied up -was scrummy...
I have got off to a good start on my "non wasting, use it up economy drive" -I have the chicken carcass on the stove making stock right now, then later I will strain it and turn it into soup - I have a cauli thats looking a little sad and there will be the tougher ends from the asparagus etc.. so technically I will have a few lunches worth of soup from nowt
Hubby fancies pizza tonight -so I have my baguette dough proving and I will make him a 12" pizza for tonight and the rest of the dough I may turn into a couple of calzone for the freezer for a quick lunch for him,,,,
right I had better get off and get some more planning done ... have a lovely day everyone and keep at it...
Hope everyone feels better soon-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -
Hello! :j
Having joined and left slimming world a few times over, I think the most important thing is for you to realise why it didn't work for you last time, so you don't end up kidding yourself and making the same mistakes this timemay I ask why you aren't able to go every week? I find as it nears the end of my slimming week I really need the boost that class gives me, and even if I have a planned week off (I am a shift worker) I struggle in the second week.
I hatehatehate the idea of counting points, and reallyhatehatehate the idea that as I'm successful slimming I get them slowly but surely taken away! Whats that all about?? Bah humbug to that!
I have done all Green, all Extra Easy, and a mixture of Green and Red days in the past. I struggled with the red days as I was such a potato and pasta fiendI am currently on mostly green days since I love my healthy extras too much and can take or leave meat. I cut right back on processed foods just for healthy eating reasons, and so found extra easy really suited me a few months back, and I had a good loss with it. Equally I have had good losses on green - at the end of the day I think they all work, and you should just sit back and relax and use the plan which you fancy the most
if you want speedy weight loss I can't emphasise enough how important eating at least 1/3 of your plate superfree foods is.
Right, on to me and my day, I'm having either green or EE I think, depending on the portion of meat in the shepherds pie mum's cooking for tonight
Apple
Brown pitta... its not co-op so I'm cheating counting this as a healthy B, but I'm going to use 3 syns to kind of temper that cheating. Kittykat don't watch
cheese (a)
chutney (1.5) (caramelised onion and cranberry, mum got it for christmas and half the jar is gone already because its so divine!)
minestrone soup
saladey bits
Bit of chocolate off'f the lint santa (1.5)
Shepherds pie with various root veg mash on top :T
cauli cheese (I'm guessing 6 syns)
ketchup (gotta have this with cauli cheese, its the law!) (1)
No need for any allocation of milk for tea and coffee, as I'm on pure water today. I miss itand caffiene and carbonated drinks are said to be bad for bone healing, so i'm going to try really cutting back on those. Plus after a day or three off plan, and having now managed 2 days completely free of painkillers I think my system would appreciate a flush through
Thats an a and a b and 13 syns, so I'd better avoid the cake, ice cream and other remaining goodies after teaIf the sweet tooth is still screaming I'll have an options hot choccy or a single chocolate out of a box. Or treat myself to some ham just on its own like a naughty child
God bless being on crutches and the hassle of getting to the kitchen and carrying any food being greater than the temptation! :rotfl:Nothing tastes as good as riding a horse feels0 -

Hi all, hope everyone has had a good christmas, mines has been ok, the children have loved it, I was a bit sad, it's my first christmas since my Nanny died in September, I'm staying with my Mum, she lived here with my Nan so it's her house now so it was a little sad being here without her.
I am convinced she was standing by my bed last night and touched the top of my head, as if she was saying ''i'm here''
Awww I bet she's with you wherever you go, DKAM; as long as you remember her (forever) she is with you. and it's kind of nice to be still able to go to her house, I think.Skintslimmer wrote: »Hello! :j...

eat in the kitchen, Skint, leaning on the counter
Thanks too for the man-info, disappointing though it was! I remember my friend having an assignation when she had a plastered ankle (and was slightly plastered thru drink too) and she decided to fetchingly throw her leg over the side of the bed; unfortunately she threw the plastered one and the weight dragged her after it and quite spoiled the moment.
I've treated myself to a small George Foreman grill, just road tested some mediterranean vegetables (tbh they taste better by my microwave method) and about to do a salmon steak on there. We shall see. If nothing else I can parboil potatoes then grill them into scallopsAnyone else have any ideas for using it? It was only £12 so not a massive investment.
:jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j
thank you Slimming World!

Evening all, ok....*deep breath* yet AGAIN I am back after falling off the wagon, not really caring about it and wallowing in self pity. You see I broke my wrist the week before Xmas and have had trouble doing things for myself. I've been eating all the wrong things and knocking back Baileys and beer with reckless abandon, this together with being inactive due to my arm has seen me gain a good 9lb in the past 10 days.....*sigh*
Anyway, I have a bloody good reason to shake myself out of my gloom.....I'm engaged! my lovely OH proposed on Xmas Day
I can't do alot this week as we're seeing friends and then there's new Years Eve, but...on New Years Day my mission begins, albeit slowly as I will have a cast on my arm until the end of Jan, I can make a start thoughThey have the internet on computers now?! - Homer Simpson
It's always better to be late in this life, than early in the next0 -
Congratulations Liz33y - not the broken arm - the engagement of course!:jA diet is the penalty we pay for exceeding the feed limit!:rotfl:
Joined SW 13/9/10 - wanted to lose 56lb and lost 26lb! Rejoined on 9/1/12 having gained 17lb of my loss!!!
Want to lose 50lb. 50 - 8.5 = 41.5 to go!0 -

My gran told me a week or so after I started SW back in April that I didn't need to lose any weight, then yesterday she told me that I didn't have three chins anymore! The cheek of it! I've lost 2st 2.5lbs and am 5.5lbs away from my top target, 12.5lbs away from my real target. I suppose it worries more that she obviously did think I needed to lose weight but didn't have the guts to say so.
My ex partner/housemate/best friend (delete as appropriate) bought me a fair sized chocolate reindeer, a chocolate santa and tiddly reindeers from Hotel Chocolat plus a milkybar polar bear for Christmas. This is on top of the multiple boxes of Elizabeth Shaw mints, lindt lindor, chocolate snowmen, gingerbread and christmas tree chocolates that are all in easy reach. I was informed that if I didn't want it all I could share it with him!

And far quicker and smaller than my halogen oven. yes, £12 well spent on a little GF grill.:jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j

Lalala I'm not listening, I really don't need any help with that particular thing thanks!!

Oh dear:rotfl: I managed that one in hospital - throwin my leg over then following it out of bed that is, not the assignation

Oh I LOVED my george foreman, still would if I could blinking well find it having moved house  It went walkies! I loved doing steak, gammon steak and sausages on there far more than any alternatives. Potato scallops are also good on it as I think you've just found out. Most things which needed a bit of browning went on there. Sliced onions I seem to recall. And it does lovely toasties tooBack in the day when I was a proper student we discovered that if you poured baked beans in a steady trickle down it when its hot by the time they pool in the tray which is usually used for fat they are just right :rotfl: where did you find one for £12, I might replace mine at that price!
Food diary update: mother smothered the entire dinner in gravy, so I think I'm over 15 syns. Good start to day 1 back on plan eh?Nothing tastes as good as riding a horse feels0 -
Hi SW-ers
I am officially back on the SW wagon. I've had my little boy, yay! Luckily I didn't put much on while I was pregnant but I've still got a hell of a lot to lose. Luckily, I have lost just over half a stone on my pre-pregnancy weight. My aim is to lose at least 5 stone and drop 5 dress sizes. I know I can do it, I lost three stone on SW in 2009. I just need some inspiration on meal planning.
I know my failings: I don't eat enough fruit and veg, although I like them. I eat too much crap, I have a sweet tooth. I don't get to eat much int he day if my son is in a grumpy mood so I end up piggin out at night. I don't get much exercise.
I'll be able to get out with the pram once the weather clears up and will aim to do 30 mins walking a day to start with, will this be enough?x0
