  • ooooh Mrs M you are an inspiration and not at all smug, it's a decision we have to make one way or the other!

I've just had a call from "Miss" cancelling our class tonight, we are expecting more snowfall overnight in this area too :( damn stuff. So I decided, as I'd already changed into my "Slimming World Outfit" that I would weigh myself at home and wooooo I am at target or even 1 lb below (and I know home scales weigh differently, but when I very rarely weigh-at-home-first-thing-naked-after-a-wee I am only a pound or two different from the evening/dressed SW weight). I've entered it onto my online diary as one pound under target though to be on the safe side :A and because I'm not sure if we are supposed to enter it if we haven't actually been to class.
    :jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j

    thank you Slimming World!
  • I know what you mean.... my s-in-law gives us a big box of thorntons each year, even after my gentle hints that we try not to have chocs in the house! We are going away to friends for Christmas so will take the UNOPENED box with us. (the capitals are a note to self!!).
I made the mistake of buying those yummy Belgian choc biscuits in M&S when they were on a bogof a few weeks ago, and they have mysteriously disappeared.....
The friend we are staying with is on TV (Loose women) and yesterday said about friends coming from Yorkshire, and that they were ordering lots of food, and didn't want to be eating Turkey at Christmas if the weather stopped us all arriving. She then said to camera 'they eat!' - hope she meant DH and not me lol!
Hope everyone is doing OK in the freezing weather.
NO EXCUSES - THIS YEAR IT'S PERSONAL..........
  • Wow, well done blackberry rum, so you're a target member now?! Yippee!!

Mother dearest has just come in (for the 100th time today) and stuck her oar in, asking was I getting any work done or is it all pleasure. She'll be moaning even more when I'm climbing the walls sufficiently enough to be allowed back home, and wondering why I'm so keen to leave!

    My day:

Fried potato, bacon (b) mushrooms, tomatoes, ketchup (1)
Dyno soup and butternut squash soup
    Apple & cheese (a)
gnocci (5 ish i think), passatta, onions, peppers, cheese (b)
    Milk in T&Cs - (a)
Fruit salad with 1/2 tsp sugar (1/2)
a ferrero rocher later on if I feel the need.

Plenty of superfree foods today, and will end on 6.5 or 10 syns. I'm happy with that.

Tomorrow may be a completely different story. Going for my hospital appointment, and there's every chance I'm going to be there ages, and we will need to eat out for lunch, which will be whatever is in the hospital canteen. hope they have jacket spuds :)

Lost a pound and a half last week and 3lb this week. Hope to maintain it over Christmas but i'm not going to concentrate on SW per se, just staying sensible and avoiding alcohol.

Not officially at target, SkintSlimmer, only by my scales! (I've been at target before, a few months ago, then decided to take off another few pounds). I know what I meant to tell you yesterday, that may make you more independent. When I broke my latest ankle, a couple of years ago, I hired a wheelchair. It was a fabulous new clean folding one, and I mostly used it around the flat as I was a bit scared of slipping and doing more damage when I was on my own. It was a really good rate, it came delivered in a little cardboard garage affair, and when you were done you email them and they collect it back! Shall I see if I've still got details? (handy too for if you go out, you get sympathy in shops in a wheelchair :D and can ask tall men to reach things from high shelves if you can persuade yr girlfriends to make themselves scarce)

right, havent found the wheelchair site yet (I've change my computer and lost my favourites) but I did find a link to a sports site where there's a long thread about broken ankle injuries. When I used it we used to have some fun discussing the various ways we got around and dealt with things, get past the first couple of pages! http://www.pponline.co.uk/forum/talk-injury/broken-ankle-injury

found it! By reading my own posts on the link I posted ^^^ up there! http://www.wheelfreedom.com/

    Evening all,

Well done Glaswejen and Blackberry on your losses.

MrsM, funnily enough a couple of the ladies I was sat with last night at our meeting said much the same thing about not wanting to have a major blow-out this Christmas, and that they were actually getting a kick out of saying no to the indulgent foods, and that was giving them far more pleasure than they'd have got out of eating the stuff. I must admit it's been much easier to not indulge in these weeks running up to Christmas than I'd imagined it'd be, but that's because I am trying to stay more focussed on getting a loss each week, so I don't want to sabotage things for myself.

Having said all that, today I was out shopping with my BF, and we were stuck on a retail park, not even halfway through our shopping trip, and in dire need of the loo and some food. No nice places to buy food in sight, so I had to have a MacDonalds. I went for a coffee, and a quarter pounder. Absolutely gutted to discover that one burger was 26 syns??? !!!!!!? How can that be, it makes no sense if I'm able to use my cheese as a HEA, syn the relish and roll, and take the 100% burger as free, albeit synning a bit of oil that it might have been cooked on. I feel like I've wasted some of the Christmas week syns on rubbish that's absolutely not been planned for. It didn't even fill me up! Tried to balance the rest of the food today as best I could, but still feeling hard done by with that.

    Food today: EE or Original
B - banana, dried fruit HEB
L - 1/4 pounder with cheese (either 26 syns, or 3.5syns for the roll, 3 syns for the relish, pickle & burger free, oil 2nd part of HEB, cheese slice HEA)
D - gammon, eggs, beans, mushrooms
    HEA - milk

Tomorrow, if the weather doesn't dump another load of the white stuff on us, I may actually get down to my sister's for the day. She's unaware that I've been on a diet, so hoping desperately that it won't be a syn laden lunch. She's usually pretty good actually, and eats fairly healthily.

Right, I'm off to brood again over my lunch today... lol
One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

Be nice to your children, they'll choose your care home

  • awwww Sary, even though McDonalds say "100% beef" the fat is still counted as beef! (it's like 100% pork sausages, they still have all sorts of not very tasty looking bits of the pig in!)

Well done on the losses :T

    Food today was:
    B - weetabix milk [a] coffee
L - mugshot, melon, pear, activia
T - cottage pie, onions, cabbage, kale, carrots, peas, mash [1], oxo, b/sauce [1]
Snacks - pineapple, melon, onken, meringue [2.5], thorntons [3?], crisps [5]

Just been to Mr S and hyper venting at the price of meat, wish I'd gone to Mr T but the petrols cheaper at Mr S. Have you seen the price of goose? Defo a rich mans bird. We went with forerib of beef, makes a wicked gravy, am drooling already :rotfl:
Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T
