  • A really helpful gadget someone got me was from Lakeland (is everything I recommend from Lakeland?) and was for children to take cereal and milk to school but worked just as well for me to carry it to where I wanted to eat it! Could be yoghurt and fruit, or whatever, I'll see if they still sell them.

oooh thank you,i shall Google them :D:D:D:D

    Takeiteazy...

    I do :-
    1. 50g dry weight pasta
    2. frozen peas and sweetcorn
    3. 1 onion
    4. 1 leek
    5. 28g strong cheddar or 42g low fat cheddar
    • zap the chopped onions n leeks in the micro until soft -throw in the peas/corn and zap until cooked
    • boil the pasta and drain and put back in warm pan, season, throw in the veggies and break the cheese into chunks and stir in
    • stick the lid back on and put back on the stove (not turned on) and leave whilst you wash the other stuff up
    • when ready, stir around and tip onto your plate
it doesn't sound like a lot of ingredients but even hubby loves it as it tastes really cheesey but not heavy...
Obviously you can alter the amount of pasta etc to suit..I throw slices of chorizo/salami that has been crisped up in sometime too

  • CONFESSION TIME: I am aware that I must be irritating with my "you are in control of what you put in your gob" and "I don't like desserts/sweets/christmas dinner so it's easy for me" cr*p (I irritate myself), so I thought I would tell you of this afternoon's eating:

    1. slow-cooked beef directly from the pot even though I could see globules of fat on the top. Probably 3 servings. No vegetables. No carbs. Just the beef.:o
    2. all the marzipan and icing off the top of a chunk (big chunk) of Christmas cake I had bought in a festive spirit to feed to the birds. I decided they wouldn't like that bit, and it's the only part I DO like.:o
    3. Then I spotted a glace cherry in the cake, so I ripped it apart and pulled out and ate all the cherries.:o
    4. Found a very very frozen mullerlight cherry in the freezer. It took 1.5 hours to eat, mostly in scrapings.:o
    5. A cup of hot water to settle my stomach.:D

    Happy Christmas :rotfl:

when I had my broken ankle (s) I always had a shoulder bag crosswise so it wouldn't slip off and in that you can pop your phone and carry a flask of coffee or soup to wherever you want! A really helpful gadget someone got me was from Lakeland (is everything I recommend from Lakeland?) and was for children to take cereal and milk to school but worked just as well for me to carry it to where I wanted to eat it! Oooh thank you that looks right up my street I have a bit of a.. well, a bit of an obsession if you must know, about plastic pots and tupperwares! So don't need much encouragement I couldn't find any useful gadgets in mum's kleaneze catalogue last night, I was most disgusted :rotfl:

I moaned for a day or two when I didn't have a suitable bag and wanted a rucksack, whereupon dad produced his moneybelt which helped a little but didn't hold much. I then had a flash of recollection and found that the end of my holdall bag zips off to become a rucksack - which has been perfect! :T Pre-accident I used an over the shoulder one like you describe, but tried it diagonally on crutches and the damn thing flapped and knocked the crutch out from underneath me. As I said, I'm not particularly safe on them yet :rotfl:

Overheard mother dearest on the phone today telling someone I wasn't going back to my own house untilend of january, and only then if i could cope properly without help - bit miffed as I rather think her idea of without help is going to be longer away than mine, I had hoped to be back shortly after new year.

Anyhoo, I am waffling away. Can't believe MrsM's list of fruit she is restricting herself to - that is loads in any (normal) person's book! And there was me, just proud of the fact that I have added satsumas to the limited varieties of fruit I will eat :o

My day's eating has been saved (so far) by the revelation that we weren't having the apple crumble which had been planned. Had it been on the menu, I would have said sod it and filled my boots As it was, its been a bit like this:

    Dyno soup
apple & cheese (I find I can slice the apple and have cheese with that instead of crackers) (a)
Dry roasted potatoes, sprouting broccoli, carrots, pork steak (b and at a guess 4 syns because the fat was left on) gravy (4) mint & cranberry sauce (3) ferrero rocher (3.5) and HM nut roast (b).

    milk in t&c (a)

14.5 syns and all healthy extras used, when I had hoped to have a bit more choccy tonight :o I might have a sneaky options, although I really shouldn't go over 15 as I have managed to do that quite a lot lately! :o

Happy slimming everyone, I'm off to browse lakeland :D

    ooohhhh skintslimmer....
I swear the shops must think I have a chimpanzee at home - I eat masses of fruit and even pre-sw it was still my fave thing... I can eat n eat n eat though unfortunately :p - I have stuck all the fruit in the fridge in the basement so I can't see it and just left my allowance for the day up here ;). I truely can't think of a fruit I don't like...off the top of my head in the last week or so I have cleared approx:-
    • 4kg apples
    • 1kg pear
    • 2kg plums
    • 5kg clementines
    • 4 kg splatsumas
    • 4kg mandarins
    • 4 grapefruits
    • 2kg oranges
    • 1kg blood oranges
    • oooh and a hand of nanas -although I only have them in my porridge
Oh my lord -when I see it all written down it looks obscene :o-still at least its not junk...and it might in part explain why I rarely come down with bugs and have lovely skin ;)
When My lovely sis was still with us and we used to work in the same place her hubby used to make her take fruit with her lunch -she used to get me to eat it and give her the core/peel back so he assumed she had eaten it :rotfl:. Im the only one in the family that is like this about fruit..heck knows why ..

Blackberryrum... oooohh I haven't had marzipan in yonks..tis another of my fave things... still if I don't buy it then I can't eat it...simple :p.....

yesterday i was cookling my christmas cakes that i give to friends and had to make a tester as i was using a new recepie. erm i think i ate about a quarter of the cake already!!

so far today i have had a skinny cappacino and 2 alpen light
lunch will be snack a jacks and satsumas.

Morning all. It's bliiming freezing here.....the car said -10° on the way to work!! We've only had a small sprinkling of snow thought thank goodness! The only problem is....the domestic water at work has frozen AGAIN so we've no flushing toilets or water to wash hands with. I'm having a green day today I think:

    Brekkie - porridge (HEA&B) and a banana
Lunch - butternut squash soup (1), 2 mini HM breadrolls (not sure of syns but they are tiny!), yogurt with mixed berries
Tea - some concoction using pork, a bit of chorizo, beans tomatoes, veggies.....whatever I feel like chucking in basically! WIll serve with mash or maybe rice or pasta, will see what OH fancies!
Snacks - fruit (unlike MrsM I'm nt a big fan and really struggle to eat it in cold weather, especially as I don't really like the fruits that are around in the winter. If I could get nectarines all year round I'd be ok!!).
  • Hi all, day off (planned) today so I don't have to stress too much about getting the car down the hill until later. I'm trying to behave better than yesterday having had loads of fresh coffee, a sliced banana and plain ff yoghurt and a teaspoon of honey (2 syns) and a boiled egg so far. My winter syns often go on honey as I think it protects against sore throats to an extent (and I like it). However, am meeting a friend for a nice pre-Xmas lunch but shall choose sensibly if poss. Then I have to prepare work lunch for tomorrow which will be more of the slow roast beef with pretend roast potatoes, pretend roast parsnips, roast squash, and broccoli and green beans. It's not often I eat "english" so that'll be a change. HEA always milk. HEB to be decided. May check freezer see if I have any co-op wholemeal pittas left; if not can buy some in town. I do like them as my HEB.

Good luck today everyone with WI, and don't go out if you don't have to brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

    thank you Slimming World!
  • PS pears and apples are gorgeous this year, though I currently am having a love affair with persimmons.
