    Gooooooooood afternoon all :D

Well done on the losses again folks :T

ooohh tis very snowy here-the severe weather warning wasn't far wrong -we gained about 12" of snow yesterday . It hasn't snowed anymore today -but I think it will. We nipped out earlier whilst it was still possible -so I have yet MORE food in :p... still, if the weather continues we will be glad of it and if not, well then it will subsidise our eating for the first few months of 2011 :p.
Anyhoo -hubby has finished work now -until the 4th January, lets see who gets on who's nerves first shall we :rotfl:. ahhhhhh and I had a huge flower arrangement delivered to my door this morning -from my lovely mummy -tis all deep reds n oranges...soooooo pretty, its for my birthday -but she sent it today as she knew I would be in :D
Whilst we were out I spotted that they had changed over the yankee candles on offer so I have added 6 more to the collection -3 garden sweetpea, 1 vanilla lavender, 1 clean cotton and 1 home sweet home :p.

Righty ho -I have eaten very little so far today :o -so I think I will go green... hmmm and it should look like this:-
    • 250ml semi (A)
    • 250ml semi (A)
    • 2 oranges
now thats it so far and Im not really hungry yet -so I will probably just have fruit for lunch... then it will be:-
    • fruit
    • 50g dry weight pasta
    • leeks
    • onions
    • peas
    • sweetcorn
    • 28g cheddar(B)
    • activia (2.5)
    • fibre plus bar (B)
    • fruit
so that will be 2A+Bs and 2.5 syns accounted for....Now then its not my fault Im having easy cheesy pasta again -hubby requested it :p although I put chorizo in his too...

Sweetserendipity.... you are so right about remembering the good times, I was only chuckling to myself earlier as I was remembering the time my dad knocked over our 6ft real xmas tree in the middle of xmas dinner -and pinned my mamma to the table with it :rotfl:... I rarely think of my dad or my beautiful sister without smiling at the daft things the pair of them used to do....

right I had better stop waffling and get off -have a lovely day everyone and keep up the great work!!

    Hello all,
((hugs)) to all those under the weather, or dealing with difficult times right now.

Blimming freezing here again today. We had a bit of snow yesterday, but worse is forecast for tomorrow :( I have to say the novelty of it wore off weeks ago, and I'll happily make do with pretty pictures of it from now on.

It's been a busy old week. After my b/day meal on Wednesday, where I chose wisely for my meal, but never bargained for it being toddler sized! I chose loin of lamb, half of which was pure fat, with that I got 2 broccoli florets, 1 chopped up carrot and 6 green beans, with 3 small new potatoes, which I shared with my BF, who didn't get any veg with his bangers & mash. We were both still starving after we'd eaten, so chose a pud, which we very rarely have if we go out. I had spotted d!ck & custard, which was a small individual pud, and works out at about 19.5 syns.

Last night I had a lovely meal out with my girlfriends, and we had a curry. I had a tikka mixed starter, which was chicken, lamb and minced beef, followed by a chicken tikka biryani, which was delicious, and and not at all greasy, so I'm hoping that kept the syns under control, and the rest of the day was free and superfree foods. I'll keep the rest of the week as syn free as possible to accommodate the 2 meals out. We're not beginning to indulge at all here until Christmas Eve night, when we traditionally have a takeaway chinese with the family. I'm happily avoiding the chocolates and mincepies, and letting everyone else indulge. I'm not feeling left out at all, as I feel I've made that choice, and it's not even an option for me to have anything until I reach the 'proper' Christmas festivities.

    Food today will be: EE
B - ff yogurt, melon, banana, Fibre+ [HEB]
    snack - melon
L - bacon, eggs, mushrooms, beans
    D - bolognese & pasta
    Milk - [HEA]

My cold is fading away now, thank goodness, so I will be getting back into the gym next week, and possibly even over the w/end. I've still got some more baking to do over the w/end, but after that, it's going to be a fairly quiet glide towards Christmas this time next week! EEEEEK!!
One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

Be nice to your children, they'll choose your care home

It's lovely when you get to that stage. It has taken me 3 years to be able to chuckle at memories of some of the things my lovely Dad used to say and I still have to be careful what I say to Mum as she hasn't really reached there yet....but it wil come :)

    Good afternoon all! :j

I hope you are all well! :rotfl:

I joined SW 6 weeks ago and I have lost 1 stone 10lbs (24lbs).. Was at WI last night and lost 5lbs and got Slimmer of the Week...

I just had a quick question for Consultant 31.. How does SW base its Slimmer of the Year on? Is it the weekly average accross the year? As I started in early November, how will that be calculated?

Thanks a lot in advance for the info!

    Cheers

    Froggy :D (Mr)

Well done on your losses to date, they're excellent :D

The Slimmer of the Year doesn't have to do with just weight loss. There are lots of different comps - Mr & Mrs; Young Slimmer of the Year; Biggest Loser etc. As far as I know, none of them work on a weekly average, but on overall loss + other factors.

For example, the SOTY has usually overcome difficult obstacles along the way where most slimmers would have given up.

I think at the very end, there are a panel who vote for the actual winner on merit, but I have never been involved so may not be right on this. Your Consultant would put you forward for the competition when you're at target if you wanted to, you just have to ask :)
I let my mind wander and it never came back!

    Hi everyone

Thought I would pop on to wish everyone the compliments of the season :rudolf:

Hope you are all well. :j

I have been MIA for many months. but have still been going to my weekly group. Things haven't gone too badly but with just one weigh in left before xmas, it is unlikely that I will reach my xmas tree challenge of getting back into my target range. I was hoping for a *really* good week this week as I think (if I remember correctly) that I need to lose 2.5 pounds to be target plus 3 so a three pound loss would mean I would be back in my target range albeit at the top end. Unfortunately though, I have gone from bad to worse since my weigh in on Tuesday but tomorrow is another day and despite the fact that I am going out for a curry tomorrow evening (weather permitting), I have Sunday, all of Monday and Tuesday to be :A. Wednesday went pear shaped because I had a birthday dinner to go to. so I *made* the most of it - had chilli and chips at the pub for lunch and a J20 so quite a few syns used there ! then plenty of  at the birthday meal and an unhealthy roast dinner ! no cake though !

Thursday I was hungover so I had 2 festive bakewells, - two bottles of lucozade sport, bag of minstrels, a fredo frog chocolate thing, innocent veg pot for lunch, quorn pieces that needing synning for tea (after my mince pie and cream when i got home from work!!) and thats just the stuff i can remember.

Today, I really let myself down - didn't plan properly so no fruit to munch on and instead just a hi fi bar for breakfast - snack a jacks and mcvities go ahead apple and sultana breaks for mid morning snack because I was starving followed by plenty of haribo sweets  , bag of minstrels mid afternoon, mince pie x 2 and plenty of cream when I got home from work followed by mexican bean burger (syns) and sw chips for tea. I feel very full and uncomfortable and cross with myself. I didn't plan my lunch properly (tin of heinz parsnip soup which I didn't enjoy) and I spent the afternoon cursing my poor efforts. Think I have well and truly used my weekly syns 10 x over in the last three days - time to draw a line and turn it around !

so my attempts at a really good week have gone pear shaped but I won't give up and thought I would share what I plan to do over Xmas.

I have done my Xmas order for delivery later in the week and have included some total greek 0% yogurt which I will be serving with meringue nest (2.5 syns each) and frozen fruit (free).

I have also ordered the onken fat free strawberry yogurt. :j (also free).

I've ordered some treats but its treats I don't like plus the cream I don't like so hopefully this will mean I won't be tempted. I have eaten all the mince pies so can't eat any more of them and I plan to try and eat lots of veg and superfree and do a bit of walking (Weather permitting) over the festive season.

Xmas day will mean turkey dinner and it won't be sw friendly but I don't eat xmas pudd and I will try to pile my plate with the veggies rather than the synfull pigs n blankets and other naughty bits. I don't have much planned yet over the festive season but if I do get invited to stuff - particularly if its a buffet type function then I will eat beforehand so I am not tempted to pick.

I have the new sw mag so have spotted plenty of recipes I want to try and I'm making a sw curry this Xmas eve rather than go out for one (although im out tomorrow for a curry so this doesn't really count).

im going to enjoy a drink or two over Xmas but not go mad and im giving up alcohol in January.

I've ordered the new Italian cookbook on pre-order amazon and will no doubt find plenty of recipes to try when I get it in early January.

I'm excited about January - I've been outside of target since last Xmas - a combination of the over indulgent Xmas I enjoyed and being ill in January meant I just lost my sw mojo but 2011 is going to be different. I look forward to hearing from you about all your Xmas plans and how you are going to tackle it.:j
  • good to see you back flat eric :j

My day has looked suprisingly well, despite yesterday evening's moan and mum spiking my lunch with cheese when I didn't know about it  We had a little talk but there is no hope, she claims it was much less than 28g of those cubes of feta, and that feta is low fat anyway. I meekly pointed out that it was the cubes in oil so they wouldn't have been very low fat, and that actually I did think there was 28g in there, but she said rubbish and she had drained the oil off (sure it doesn't sink in mum, suuure ;)). Anyhoo...

b: alpen light bar (well it was 11am by the time I surfaced! :o)
l: pasta bows with quark, herbs, salad chopped up bits and that sneaky feta cheese (a)
    coffees throughout the day: (a)
t: Mushroom risotto: mum duly quizzed and swears she didn't add anything other than the rice, veg and some stock powder. It was lovely and served with a large green salad, so I'll not sack the chef just yet ;)
Banana and muller banana yoghurt, and a cup of hot choc (oh dear, I'd asked for the nana chopped up with the yoghurt and for a sachet of options to sprinkle over it, thinking I'd use 1/2... I got a banana in skin, pot of yoghurt and a mug of made up hot choccy. (2) (earlier in the day I asked for a glass of water to take my tablets with 3 times over, and gave up the third time when the 3rd coffee arrived. Sometimes I think nobody listens to me in this house :rotfl:)

Thinks its time for another coffee and a fibre plus :T Trouble is what do I ask for to end up with a coffee, that is the question...

  • Hi guys.
    I'm really struggling.
Had a few Xmas parties with various toddler groups this week, then just kinda gave up! :o
I have literally no money until Tuesday (long story) so now I am having to eat out of store cupboard.
I have no salad, no fruit, some frozen veg and meats.

wavey.giffrom a very snowy me wavey.gif-we have gained about another 8" over night and boy is it still going... but we have no need to go out in it (well apart from keeping the bird tables filled up and to clear across the front of the house) -so we can just sit in and watch all the crazy folks trying to get out in it tongue.gif-it does look pretty though smiley1842.gifLuckily I stockpile -so we can pick n choose when we go out, even hubby has had to concede that my hoarding obsession sometimes pays off :D

Well done on the losses everyone :T

Dontknowanymore - is it worth listing what you have in to see if we can come up with any ideas to tide you over?
Well then folks -hubby has come down with some kind of lurgy -given to him by someone at work mad.gif, they will insist on going in coughing n spluttering and spreading it around rant2.gif-I usually manage NOT to catch most things so if I get this one I won't be happy cross.gif -although with the amount of vitC I get down me if any germs get through it desreves to :rotfl:

Anyhooooo I think Im going to have a red day today -I think 3 days of pasta is sitting far to heavy on me at the moment -even though I have a max of 50g dry weight a time .... so It may look like this:-
    • 250ml semi (A)
    • orange
    • activia (2.5)
    • 56g oats (Bx2)
    • 250ml semi (A)
    • banana
    • organic rhubarb yoghurt (2)
    • apple
    • clementines
    • home made burgers (1) -nomnomnom
    • cabbage salad:-
    • red cabbage
    • carrots
    • onions
    • pepper
    • dressing (1) -will adjust this when I know what Im putting in it tongue.gif
    • yoghurt (2)
    • clementines/orange/splatsumas/apples/blood oranges -depending what mood Im in ....
Now then that uses 2 A+Bs and 8.5 syns.. so I stil need to use another 6.5 syns -so I may buy some milk with it -can never have too many cuppas wink.gif

Im going to get my meal plan for next week sorted out later -will be odd as hubby is at home now so I will have to figure in his lunches too -he normaly takes extra dinner from the night before... Im sure I will figure it biggrin.gif! I also want to get back to cutting down my carbs -so more red days -and using my Bs more for my porridge etc and not using them late in the day for healthy fibre plus bars!!!!!! I wasn't fancying brekkie this morning so thats why I have decided to have a big ole bowl of porridge for my lunch nomnomnom.... will use both my Bs up too wink.gif
Right I think thats me for now.... have a great day everyone and keep safe n warm bundledup.gif
