.....
I had been planning to say stuff the diet completely over those two days, but hearing her say the average gain Xmas week is 7lbs, I am re-thinking.
still... 30 syns? That's not a lot to have a good time at Christmas on....
I say stuff the diet over christmas. I don't plan on going nuts but I don't plan on thinking about it one bit either. I plan on just trying to be sensible... ie no 2nds of pudding0 -
Afternoon all,
Is it cold enough for you all? Minus flipping 10*C here today. Brrrrrrr, that's cold enough to put icicles on the brass monkeys. We've also got freezing fog here too, so not good weather at all. I was meant to go to visit my eldest sister near London today (very south Herts), but my neice has been ill all night with tummy pains, which turns out are gallstones, so she's ended up having to look after her grandchildren today, instead of entertaining us. Bit of a shame, because I spent all day yesterday baking foods to go in the hamper I've put together for my sister/BIL's present. Maybe we'll get down later this week, who knows? I've left the hamper in the car, and with the temperature being so low, none of it is going to go off, is it?
I have to say the temptation to nibble on the biscotti & shortbread biscuits was dreadful, and I admit I did allow a few tasters, but on the whole, I tried to be very good. It's WI day for me and little Sary today, last one before Christmas. I'm going for a lightweight pair of trousers to be a cunning way to at leasts STS. I'm still really worrying about the 2 meals I had last week, as I've no idea how they'll have impacted on my week.
MrsM, it's a wonder you don't sh*t through the eye of a needle with all that veg & fruit you have. I had a real craving for satsumas a couple of weeks ago, but think it's because I was getting a cold, and my body needed the vitamin C. I have a banana and satsuma or two each day, but struggle to eat apples a lot of the time. Not sure why. I do love my strawberries.
It's our Slimming World Christmas party tonight, and members are encouraged to bring along a SW friendly food item. I've made a trifle, that I have calculated to work out at 29.5 syns for the whole thing, and should serve 8-10, so thats about 3/3.5 syns per portion, which I thought was quite good for a dessert. I have decided not to put cream on top, but put a squirt of cream on as it's portioned out, that way it'll work out at less syns that way I'm sure.
Edited to add: I forgot to hit 'post reply', so this was written earlier this afternoon, but then sat waiting idly by for me to come back to the laptop!
Weigh in went better than expected, I lost 2.5lb this week, which is just fab for me heading into Christmas. Little Sary got a maintain, which he was more than grateful for, especially as he was wearing a heavy pair of jeans & thick tshirt, and has indulged somewhat in the Christmas chocolates at school this week. He did have a couple of days not feeling well at the back end of last week, where he didn't eat much, so I think that was his saving grace.
The party was good fun. The food was delicious... definitely going to be trying out some of those recipes at home. I've got the new magazine to digest, with the freebie recipe booklet that has some fab meals in too. This time next week Christmas will all be over and done with, and I'll be climbing back on the wagon again .... mind you, I'm not getting off the wagon until Christmas Eve night.
Oh, and it's still ruddy freezingly bitter out there, but we're currently up to a balmy -6*C tonight, so at least it's warming up a bit!
Stay warm you lotOne day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

Hi all, it's -11° here and still no water! The roads were shocking this morning and there were quite a few bad accidents, one of which was right outside the entrance to work.....luckily (or unluckily depending on how you look at it) there are several other entrances so we managed to get in ok. I'm soooo ready for the xmas break but I do have to come to work on Mon and Tues next week but hopefully not for very long! Not managing to follow the plan very well at the minute, main meals are basicall ok and so are HEs but definately having more syns than usual!0

Big gain coming for me tomorrow, I've truly embraced the Christmas spirit and spent most of the last week very merry and eating whatever the hell I fancy
Who cares, I don't want to be dieting over Christmas and will lose it all by the end of January anyway. I'm going to enjoy Christmas and still keep going to SW in the meantime to keep on top of it.Whatever doesn't kill me, can only make me stronger.

morning morning morning
well I didn't get my walk this morningalthough I have done some fettling, so hopefully that wil have burnt a few cals... and I will get on the wii later. It is far too frosty n slippy looking out there to venture far today....
Sarymaclary.. well done on your loss :jand well done to junior Scarymaclary on a sts ....thats brilliant at this time of year when all the temptation is about :T.
I have always eaten a lot of fruit n veg so I think my system is immune -heck even dynorod soup doesn't touch me (well apart from making me gusty":rotfl:)
Anyhoo here is my meal plan
so then -another red day that should look like this:-- 250ml semi (A)
- blackberries
- banana
- roast chicken breast
- gherkins
- beetroot
- peppers
- tomato
- activia (2.5)
- kolkata chili chicken (4)
- 198g potato (B) wedged in:-
- 1/4tsp oil (0.5)
- stirfried:-
- 1/4tsp oil (0.5)
- onions
- carrots
- peppers
- 250ml semi (A)
- fibre plus bar (B)
- 250ml semi (6)
- fruit allowance
- strawberries
- 1 apple
- 4 clementines
- 2 blood oranges
I have made the marinade for the chili chicken and got the meat marinading so hopefully it will be yummy-hubby is still
so at least it should get through to his tastebuds...
There is nothing much happening here rigth now so Im thinking of getting some more weekly menus sorted ready for the new year -shouldn't really mention such things beforehas even happened should I
...BUT I have to confess that Im focussing on getting plenty more wobble off ready for spring/summer -it will be on us before we know and IM NOT having another FAT one.... I refuse to have to wear black all the time in a small attempt to not look so big, and I refuse to have to wander around sweltering as I have nothing to wear - or should that be -nothing that Im willing to wear
...plus I have pretty clothes in the wardrobe now just waiting for the summer
SO -there is my motivation for not pigging out this.. This has to be the first year in memory that I haven't already spent several [STRIKE]days[/STRIKE] weeks feeling sick n bloated from overeating and getting up with food hangovers
...and I love it -I know it might sound very *bah humbug* -but for me I really think that the festive season is my final test of willpower and how much I really want to be slimmer... and so far Im winning
and to be honest its not even difficult (sorry if that sounds smug
) -I just really really want to be slimmer more than I want to shove things down my neck
and I never thought I would be able to say that.. anyway thats far to much blah blah blah... I will get off for now... have a lovely day everyone -keep safe n warm....

How wonderful MrsM for you
And you are certainly a huge inspiration, you are one of several posters on here who I can depend upon to look to as a slimming role model, so thank you!
Having decided that 15 syns a day was fine yesterday, I have now erred towards cutting riiiiiight back on my syns until santa is firmly here(remind me of this if I post otherwise please
) I reckon 5, but allowed up to 10 will allow me to bank some syns and hopefully put on less next weekend

MrsM I really admire your determination and hope you can do it, we're all rooting for you. I myself intend to indulge but hopefully for only a couple of days then back on the wagon. I just know what with * week and all the stuff already bought I have no chance of avoiding temptatation
.
Does anyone know the syns for a Thorntons ginger bread star from their winter collection? If not I'll guesstimate on 3 and it weren't even nice, very perfumey _pale_ wish son wouldn't keep trying to tempt me
Anyway hopefully rest of day will be ok.Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

Just seen this and thought I'd share with you all.
Grandma is eighty-eight years old and still drives her own car. She writes:
Dear Grand-daughter,
The other day I went up to our local Christian book store and saw a
'Honk if you love Jesus' bumper sticker ..
I was feeling particularly sassy that day because I had just come from a thrilling choir performance, followed by a thunderous prayer meeting.
So, I bought the sticker and put it on my bumper.
Boy, am I glad I did; what an uplifting experience that followed.
I was stopped at a red light at a busy intersection, just lost in
thought about the Lord and how good he is, and I didn't notice that the light had changed.
It is a good thing someone else loves Jesus because if he hadn't
honked, I'd never have noticed.
I found that lots of people love Jesus!
While I was sitting there, the guy behind started honking like crazy,
and then he leaned out of his window and screamed, 'For the love of
God!'
'Go! Go! Go! Jesus Christ, GO!'
What an exuberant cheerleader he was for Jesus!
Everyone started honking!
I just leaned out my window and started waving and smiling at all those loving people.
I even honked my horn a few times to share in the love! ;
There must have been a man from Florida back there because I heard him yelling something about a sunny beach.
I saw another guy waving in a funny way with only his middle finger
stuck up in the air.
I asked my young teenage grandson in the back seat what that meant.
He said it was probably a Hawaiian good luck sign or something.
Well, I have never met anyone from Hawaii , so I leaned out the window and gave him the good luck sign right back.
My grandson burst out laughing.
Why even he was enjoying this religious experience!!
A couple of the people were so caught up in the joy of the moment that they got out of their cars and started walking towards me.
I bet they wanted to pray or ask what church I attended, but this is
when I noticed the light had changed.
So, grinning, I waved at all my brothers and sisters, and drove on
through the intersection.
I noticed that I was the only car that got through the intersection
before the light changed again and felt kind of sad that I had to leave
them after all the love we had shared.
So I slowed the car down, leaned out the window and gave them all the Hawaiian good luck sign one last time as I drove away. Praise the Lord for such wonderful folks!!
Will write again soon,
